    A thing or two...
What you're saying makes sense, and I hadn't really thought about it. I knew the slip was at the DS/transmission mating, but I hadn't really thought about what all was moving. I haven't been off-road since I installed it, so I'm not working out the rear suspension. I've got all the parts to swap the rear to SUA which will require the addition of a slip-joint after the CB, so it won't be an issue once that gets done. I'll just refrain from any crazy off-road shenanigans until then. I'm not worried about it right now, and I'll just check on it occasionally.

I think the most likely place to see the failure is on the mounting strap around the bearing. The strap on the IEDLS bearing is not too beefy. Check it carefully and frequently for cracks. It will progress for a while, but once it fails, you could do other damage.

Even a speed bump cycles your suspension quite a bit. Just watch out man.

Might as well have the slip yoke added now

    @anthony250f

I can't tell for sure since you painted it black...
Did you use the dust cover that came with it?
Cover facing toward rear of truck?
And just tighten the nut to press the bearing to position? No need fitting a pipe over shaft and hammering it to move the new bearing into place?

Can I ask why you used the tube and flat plate to flip the bearing upside down and not mounted it like the OEM carrier bearing? I assume it was not in line somehow, and this was needed? Seems like installing as normal with a shorter spacer might have been easier?

Has to be installed like this. Otherwise it would sit way too low

I did not use the cover!

Mine pressed on very easily with the nut

Yeah, i had to remove dust cover. It rubbed. Worked fine without dust cover. Made my bracket with some angle with slotted holes so i could adjust driveline angle easier.

There was a shop online that had this bearing in stock and i think i got it in 2 days for under $40 total.

I would NOT trust that angle iron as a spacer! Find the correct length and replace with square tubing. Remember how much torque goes through the Cb

Dude...that looks highly suspect. With 20 bolts holding that thing on, you've got a lot of ways it could fail. That needs a lot more beefing. I'm with anthony. You figured out your place you want it in, now make a real mount.

It took about 30 seconds to cut out the square tubing anyway. I cut like 8 different sizes.

Really not worried. If angle bends (it won't break), there will be vibrations to alert driver. If multiple short grade 8 3/8" bolts break, then whatever caused it would have just as easily damaged longer bolts and square tubing too.
    Seriously no need for concern.

Gonna give the Timken a try. Just ordered. My factory one is in bad shape and has been for a while. Super sloppy

Honestly I don't know what would be good for the prerunner. And @nd4spdbh probably has good advice. I just love harassing him since we grew up together and he's one of my bestest buddies. But 2wd not having the slip yolk, I'd be worried about the stress it would cause if you used one of the more solid ones like the eidls. I just grabbed a timken for mine, which is similar, but then again I'm 4x4 with the slip yolk.
