    ..^^^...Nice ...

You have been getting a lot of "hands on maintenance experience" that might save your life someday.

IMO, when you understand the aircraft mechanically, it gives you more insight in difficult situations ... and saves you maintenance dollars too.

Well, you got me curious and I'm impatient, so I went and found the A-10 manual online. Page 368 talks about compressor stalls at too high of an AOA. Pg 356 does talk about high pitch maneuvers causing an engine overtemp or stall.

I completly agree. I'm not actually doing the avionics install myself, but I am designing my new panel in Cad since I have access to a CNC machine.
Interesting, good find. I wasn't as impatient I guess :)

Was this your first time flying it? It had to be a blast. I love the A-10. Years ago we would spend lots of time at KMTN. Getting to watch them t/o and land was awesome.

Yeah that would be terrifying. I bet that flight crew was glad they didn't let go once they landed and realized the cap was still alive!

My bad guys....glad you were able to find an answer though. We do get tones in the cockpit letting us know when we're approaching and passing max AOA. The slats on the leading edge of the wing extend during higher G maneuvering to mitigate this but it is possible to compressor stall / overtemp engines if you're too aggressive.

Yeah this was the first time I got to fly it since it's been painted. It's a blast to fly for sure! Somehow watching jets beat up the pattern never gets old does it.

Dood, is there a decent vantage point around Selfridge for a civilian to enjoy the show? We wander over the river every now and then but don't know the area and certainly don't want to go anywhere that someone would want a chat with us.

Saw a 135 on approach from the ABC electronics I think on Gratiot. I do miss seeing you guys glide down the St. Clair inbound.

10 years ago or so, A10s would fly by my house at maybe 200' AGL. I miss seeing them. :( If I was outside and saw them coming, never heard them til they were THERE, I got a few of them to wave back. USA!!

I always geeked out over the MU-2, fuel to noise converters and all! We used to have a freighter that would come in nightly with topless women pictures in the window plugs lol!! The first time I ever used a forklift was loading one.

Royal pain the ass to fuel though, especially solo. One of my former co-workers got knocked off a ladder when the tip tank fuel cap popped off and hit him in the face when he didn't release the pressure the correct way.

Haha, yeah they’ll do that! It impressed me how much the wing will droop while fueling the tips

The falcon 20 does it as well, but at least it's not at eye level lol.
