that is a handy unit, Might have to be a copycat! having a junction-box to work with would save me headaches in the future for sure.. lost my ground connection from the aluminum frame and my lights flicker like a midnight rave.. my work-around so far has been not driving after dark.. brakes and turn signals still work, but I have to drag it from northern alberta to nw ontario in a weeks time, so Im going to have to address it stat..

Either a flat dark olive green, satin dark grey or satin black. Looks like I'll be using rust-oleum enamel thinned out and rolled. I figure I'll be in and out of it so often it's not worth the trouble to spray it with automotive paint. Plus I'd like to be able to rattle can touch up whenever.

nice! it seems like it has a decent base coat so the rolled on paint should be good.

Yeah, original paint is still in good condition it seems. Buddy who I got it from had it sprayed a couple of months before he sold it. I don't know if I'll strip it down to bare metal or just go over top. Some areas need to be welded so I may just wait till I have everything ready and paint it all at once.

Maybe I'll do a 2 tone black and grey.... Either way I'll need a tacomaworld sticker for the back of this bitch....
Found something else I'll need to address. The rear has a sharp 90 degree corner to it that I'll need to cut out. I can see it being a clearance issue. IMG_20180325_185948-01.jpg
I've checked and it's all frame on that angle so I'll be able to cut and just weld a 3/16 plate on there. Side marker can easily be moved towards the front right behind the wheel.

I did satin black front, rear and bottom half of the sides. Bed liner doors and top. Correction top was painted but some idiot didn't check the weather and it may or may not have been washed away... Before anyone asks, no you can't fit 33's on stock suspension.... IMG_20180329_080622.jpg
There will be a lot of mind changing on this build, this is one of them, I now will go with springs and a solid axle, with brake flange but no brakes for now.

Flex test on my current pintle hook

It's about 20" rise. Still a little play in the hook. I'd say in total I have about 21-22" articulation available as is. With springs I would imagine it to go up to 24-26" which brings it to almost 45° off camber. I might not have to do anything to the current set up connection wise.

Edit: just thought of the truck on trail twisted one way and trailer the other way.... This might not work.

I’m thinking of ardbeg for instance if there is too many off camber spots where the trailer would flip or break the mount.

I would run it with the pintle and see where it goes. Plus in ardbeg it wouldn’t be too bad as long as long as you don’t do the off shoots with it.
