I want to upgrade my suspension from the stock suspension. How big of a difference is the stock suspension from icon stage 1. I don’t want to regret not getting suspension with uca’s and leaf springs

I have stage 1 it’s a huge difference in ride an height. Pair it with a aal an UCA’s you have a great suspension that can be upgrade as your truck grows or leave it be. I’m very happy with mine

    Awesome!
    I'm on a block lift right now...:annoyed:
Just went to Dakars on the back but need new struts bad so I'm going to ICONs.
I'm assuming the ride will be better? lol

Oh my goodness yes it’ll be nite/day difference. I really liked the ride it had when my truck was stockish felt like butter.
You may have read icons leak I had 2 sets of icons only had one shock leak and that was because of a hard hit I did off a steep drop.

Yeah I've been reading so many mixed reviews on them. I'm in Edmonton, Alberta so we get harsh long winters and the roads get very dirty with sand and salt. I will use the neoprene covers to prevent the rods from getting wrecked. My taco is a daily driver and I am a weekend warrior. Lots of camping in the summer and not much in the winter. I also do lots of highway driving.

The shop I deal with really recommend OME as they are very hardy. They say some people with ICONs need to get them rebuilt sometimes.
Hopefully they last a while if I take good care of them.

Awesome OME is a solid setup no doubt but you’ll get better performance out of the icons. Plus think of them as a investment last shocks you’ll ever have to buy since they are rebuildable.

You're right. OME is nice as my buddy has them. But I want a smooth ride.
The downside to rebuilding your shocks, is that your truck is out of commission until they are rebuilt. How long did it take you to get yours rebuilt?

I’m fortunate I live by a local member who has all the stuff to do it took one day. I would keep your stock stuff with spacers to slap back in when they need a rebuild.

    Okay :spending:

I think it's time, trying to decide if I need the stage 2 or just stick with stage 1.

Have you taken a look at Elka? They will hold up better to corrosion and offer a similar stage 1 kit.

    I'll check them out!
I'm in Canada so it will cost an arm and a leg for those. Plus the shipping is ridiculous. Not sure if anyone around here can rebuild them.

Is the Elka ride comparable to ICON?

They are Canadian made... They'd be more expensive? I'm pretty sure they have service centers across the US and Canada.
I haven't ridden in a truck with icons yet, but have a buddy with a set so hopefully will be able to compare soon. Valving is progressive like King and fox vs. icon's digressive. Ride is subjective, but these eat washboard and forest service road washout/whoops great.
