    There's another one in July.

The July run goes down to Harlingen and then up the beach from the south.

Been a while since I've been down that way. Gotta make a big trip this year. It's either this or Big Bend (or both :D )

Another place i haven't been. Was supposed to go a week or two back but that fell through for me. Still I'd like to make it out there sometime this year. I hear the stargazing is amazing. Something I need to experience.

When I was 17-18 years of age I used to work on one of my inlaws shrimp boats. It was a big sucker, 65',2 other deckhands, it was damn hard work but the one thing I'll never forget was the stars at 80 miles offshore. You can't explain it to anyone you just have to take them and show them. The capt was an ass but every once in a while he would kill the lights while we were dragging the nets so that I could get a good look.

Except from the part where you're out over water and can't see land, that sounds amazing. Nothing makes you feel smaller in the world then looking up in amazement. It's humbling, even on the outskirts of Boerne. I can only imagine out over water.

LOL the chickens just don't understand!

When I was over seas we used to have super dark night skies. I was usually out everyday for work about 3am. I used to love star gazing. There were times when it was so quiet I could have been the only living thing on the planet and I remember being able to see into infinity. Every morning about 5am I used to see the same glowing object go from horizon to horizon in just a few minutes (3, maybe 4). Turns out it was the ISS.

We really are so small in comparison to the rest of our universe.

It's so easy to forget how small we really are.
