Anybody find a good color match paint to fix a couple of areas on my dash top (gray) that has been rubbed off? Just need a little bit to cover up a couple of places where the paint pulled off but can't find a color match.

    Thanks!

Jeff, this is a post I had a while back. Like yourself though, I'd love to know what matches.

I haven't messed with the paint on the top of the dash. Just the interior pieces that were black. I would look around a place that makes car paint and have some vinyl paint made (bring a sample of your interior color) Would be hard to get the right color because the dash doesn't have a color code I went off from.

I made the mistake of wipe it with rubbing alcohol to get a greasy film off goo off and the paint just wiped off.

when I looked at what I could do with it, it seemed to be, you cant match the faded paint so the best solution is, you have to take the dash out (several hour job) then just paint the whole thing and reinstall it good as new. a short version is, take as much off as you are willing and then try painting it all "in place" that way

I bought a vinyl repair kit from True Value intended for stuff like furniture, kitchen chairs etc. It comes with little viles of key colors you can custom-mix yourself to get an exact (or close) color match. It also comes with grain swatches you apply heat to to achieve the texture of the surface. I bought this to repair a scratch I caused across my glovebox and part of the dash near it.
I am still developing the balls to go through with it:(

Scuffed mine today on top of dash. Did anyone find a good solution...and take before/after pics? It appears the gray color is only on the surface. Not all the way through the plastic. Would really like to find a wipe on/ brush on solution, instead of disassembling the entire dash to spray.

To future readers. Found out you can paint the dash with plastic primer and paint and solve the issue.

The prior owner of our truck had stuck a GPS mount to the dash. After removing the paint underneath was mostly missing. I had a company that a used car dealer told me about come out and color match and respray that area. It was $75 which to me was worth it- match is excellent. He mixed the color on site and blended it out so you cannot tell.
Downside (for some) is that you cannot Armour-All the dash - will impact the touched up area. A non-issue for me, but if you like the shiny look you will need to find another solution.
