I've got the Shapeways 3 switch mount that goes where the cubby hole went on the 3rd Gen. I've got 3 CH4x4 switches that I've put there, rear and front camera, and LED light bar. I've pretty much got them all set up for function, however I'm having a tough time figuring out how to power the illumation for the switches ( so they light up with other lights on) and I wanted to see if anyone local, Tampa area, has similar and wouldn't mind showing what you did.

Of course if you're further and have pictures I'd appreciate that too.

I'm just at a loss as i planned on tapping into the fuse panel however I can't find a fuse that is under the dash and would only be powered when the headlights are on.

Also in need of serious wire management as each plug has 4 wires just going all over the place.

Got a lot of stuff lol
You could tap the illumination wire on your radio harness or tap the wire going to the bulb in your shifter so it'll only turn on at night with the rest of the switches.

Well my switches are on the other side of my steering wheel so tapping into that doesn't sound too easy. And I was hoping not to tap into any factory wires.

Oh ok so there's an illumination wire on that side too. (They're everywhere) there's a few plugs on that side that might have one or you could tap from the switches already there

Anyone with info on how to wire switches to be illuminated without tapping into a factory wire?

I'm trying to power my CH4x4 switches to be illuminated when my lights are on. So far someone told me to use METER but that did not do it because that is constantly powered.

I cant remember but if there is an illumination fuse you could use an add a fuse there but besides that tapping power is it. An Illumination wire should be off until you turn the lights on and it should produce 12v. Don't confuse it with an ignition wire which turns on when the vehicle is on.
