Kansas City Tacoma Crew - 816/913

It's Friday my dudes. Another hour left of work. What a long week. Need to pull my mudflaps off tomorrow morning before I hit the trails.

 

You gonna live feed or something? Give me something to do at work......

 

We were one of two exact copies of a Super white DCLB. the other was tricked out a little more than us. They rode in a different group so I didnt get any shots. The leader of our group had an old T100 that was full exo with no bed. MY LIMO DID NOT FIT WELL IN THESE TRAILS DESIGNED FOR JEEPS. We made the Tacoma look good though, and drove home without issue. A few new scratches and a new scar.


And I put the first battle scar on when I drove into a branch to get out of thr way of a group of jeeps going the opposite way of our group...

 

Also, the main loop isnt as easy as everyone makes it out to be either. It gets wide in some spots but is only one car wide in most. Its also very rutted and bounced us around on this stiff stock sport suspension. Its also got some down/up hill climbs. We went down some beginner trails which were a little more aggressive than I had thought going in. The only obstacle we bypassed was a steep hill climb since we dont have any lockers.

I flexed the bed pretty hardcore too. At one point i had two guys hopping in the bed to get my wheel to touch to grab.

The class took longer than expected. Was 3 hours of 'lecture' then we hit the trails after an hour lunch break which i used to air down, try the main loop then tear my front mudflaps off.

No doubt. The class gave me some confidence and a lot of the tougher stuff has bypasses.

Was a 70% chance of rain today and it didn't rain and finally warmed up. Lucky!

 

Alright. We are in. Going unless hell breaks loose. I havent been for years. Not since my GMC.

 

No Home Depot today, but had a work day on my friend's truck.

I suffered a dent to the passenger fender. I pulled off the trail into a tree branch that slid between my brush guard and fender. Is about the size of a half-dollar. I might be able to pop it out. Few new pinstripes too. Nothing crazy. Drove her straight down the highway back home without issue.

So far I got 1 or two going and 4 maybes. Not many interested in 4x4ing this weekend I guess. I'll head out early and try to meet up with you guys. You going to be there when they open or around 9-10?

 

Yeah, we booked a room in fort scott saturday night. Get up and have some breakfast, go wheelin...

 

They open at 8am, but I'll try to get there by 9-10. Air Down! I went in at 20PSI on all 4. They have a free air station with like 15-20 air hoses so you can air back up. Entire park is 5MPH limit, so 4 Low, take it slow!

 

I have a vialr in my box, portable air.

No wife this weekend?? I'll have my son and wife with me, both as eager as I am...

 

Nope just me this time. She works Sundays as a requirement for her job so its really hard for her to take them off.

 

@Sociopenguin Looks like it may only be you and me and possibly one or two others from the book of faces. Which is plenty to parade down a trail! Know your pivot point! I push my truck till my brushguard nearly touches the tree ahead before I turn to get my long ass truck through. I did rub a tree on the bed once that day. Luckily the dust on the bed made a good lubricant to slide past
