currently rebuilding my tired old suspension on my 2004 Tacoma base model 5lug 2wd and decided to buy moog springs, I order the moog 81068 set which according to moogs site are the direct replacement for my Tacoma , the springs arrive and from what I see are too long so contact rock auto and they replace them right away and send me the “correct parts” they get here again and surprise same springs , model with the same length as th others returned . my question is anybody know if aftermarket springs are longer than oem?
There seems to be 8 or 9 loops one m stock springs
Here’s a pick of one sent

I belive those are 6lug springs. Try ordering moog 81070. I think thats the right ones. Moog is kinda weird cause they list like 10 springs and dont give very good description on what they are actually for. I think acdelco it would be 45h0356, and husky springs are sc20506

thats one of the first things that came to mind, these are obviously for prerunner or 6lug tacos. ive made the decision to take a refund and im purchasing them oem from gunny out in camleback toyota, messing with return shipping and taking the suspension apart just to figure out the parts are not correct is a pain in the ass

Lol yeah working with are coils is a pain in the ass. But thing to watch for is anything for are truck should say “RWD except pre runner” if it just says rwd its for pre runners.

No there are different coils for 6cyl and 4 cyl tacomas. 6cyl coild are a little stiffer so they give 4cyl tacomas a slight lift. Some people say upto a inch. 6lug coils are completely different then 5lug coils

Not sure how worn out your coils are now. So not sure how much lift that will give but the spacers generally give about .5-1” of lift. Make sure to measure before and after you install it all, i would be interested to hear how much you gain.

Just located a shop a few blocks from me that will make custom springs, longer, shorter, stiffer, softer, whatever you need. I haven't had a chance to go in and talk to them but could be a nice solution to different needs.
