That’s what I am doing but the fridge will be kept as a freezer and the new pelican cooler will be the fridge. Will constantly have items to be kept cold. In theory atleast. May have to have some ice packs or something in rotation between the fridge and freezer.

Also what size is your arb? Plus it’s just you right? Different when you have two people and one of them can only eat certain foods

    think its a 37qt @Norilsk ?

But thats true, didn't think how its both you and karoline and wes and his wife.

I wonder if draws significantly more power being used as a freezer. I was considering doing that as well just to freeze food instead and then whatever meal I would be having that day take it out and put it in the cooler. Helps keep the cooler cold and thaws out at the same time.

Exactly. Right now I will have 95 quarts of food/drink storage.

I believe it will take more power to get it down to a certain temp. However if it is just maintaining that temperature it should be somewhat the same within reason.

Other reason was the cooler is movable if needing to move food away from the sleeping area. Also can keep the cooler in the back of the truck (back seats) which can be reached as we are driving. The fridge is in the bed.

its the ideal way to do it, but based on where my second battery is its just easier to run power to the bed instead of back into the cab....

    So I bought this

Inkbird 2 Stage Heating and Cooling Mode 12Vdc Digital Thermostat Temperature Controller https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B073FDF6VJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_MHG4AbAZDD9WK

And some thermal paste to increase the efficiency of this

    https://www.amazon.ca/Coleman-Quart...pID=41IcW2VnI2L&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

By making it thermaly activated at a set temperature point. I opened it up and it has one of these

TEC1-12706 TEC Thermoelectric Cooler Peltier Module CPU https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00CDK1SL0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_snH4AbZYZ1YAM

Which seem to draw 6 amp at max draw. I'll also be re insulating the outside of the cooler to increase efficiency. Online calculator says I can run 6 amp for 16 hours straight off my deep cycle marine battery.
I'm thinking of running it off the truck during the day while driving and connecting to the secondary overnight.

Until I get a 2nd battery, for the swisha loop my truck will be started twice maybe 3 times each night because I will be running my fridge all the time.

Nice I have the factory remote start, which you can start and stop the truck. So I dont even need to get outa bed :cookiemonster:

It's not a deep cycle but I have a stock battery you can borrow for the trip if you'd like.

No its ok, I dont want to use a battery that I dont have installed correctly or wired right.

I have no budget for it this year, its a large undertaking to do it correctly. I will get by its no problem :cookiemonster:

Pete needs to stop showing me things I have to buy, stupid jack. I knew I needed it but was just refusing to buy it.

Im just going with a larger agm battery, single battery to run the fridge. Will run it for 24 hours no issues with my calculations. No need for a second battery. Dont plan on running anything else ever

What this local gent spoke has stuck with me hard, I have slept many a night thinking on it. I watched the ballsack out of Expedition Overland like the rest of you (@Joe23 <3's Clay) so the real evidence was shown that with out a chainsaw or saw's. It stops.

I have gone well outside my budget this year as to prep for this trip and something like a chainsaw which I wanted anyway is not going to hold me back, so I just fuckin went hard at it.

$80 used chainsaw in perfect nick, I can get all parts for it at my place of employment. It is a poulan service department.

I believe in PPE, for everything. I like me the way I am with all my things attached and working. On my motorcycle I wear Kevlar lined double thick jeans with hip, and knee protection built in, and such.

$320 in PPE to use the chainsaw, sure I could have spent less on the helmet, but I would be have been upset with a POS on my head and regretted it. So I bought the nicest one. Ever.

*Edit* Yes I have steel toed boots, had them already.

@Ttaco15 I had it all planned just needed to find the right stuff :cookiemonster:

    *Edit*
One of the important things I do not have, is a winch. So depending on others for that, I can be relied on for the chainsaw. I felt like I needed to bring more to the table than what I had.
