Go Rhino Running Boards (?)

Hello everyone,

Im new to the forum and i was wondering if anyone has the Go Rhino running boards model RB20 or RB10 that can share any good/bad feedback. Is this a good and reputable company i can trust? The running boards are made of galvanized steel, i wish there were aluminum to prevent corrosion but is not a deal breaker. I like that they are closer to the body instead of being low to the ground. Not looking for sliders as this is my city daily driver and not a mountain crawler, lol. Please, any opinion/feedback and pictures will be gladly appreciated.

 

Yes i have, they are awesome but pricey. I like the fact that they are aluminum as well. It seems that they provide some protection from door dings etc.

 

The rhinos are around $330 to $360..

 

They are according to the website, about 73lb but im not to worry about it. I just want to make sure they are a good brand/purchase as well.

 

I saw this too but they are plastic with a thin aluminum layer underneath. I like them as well but not sure how long they will last...

OP, Did you ever pull the trigger on these? Have any pictures or feedback?

 

After a lot of researching etc. I actually decided on the Stealth running boards (black) model# RB120.

Not my truck but took pictures of other trucks for comparison purposes. Hope this helps someone else on their decisions.

 

Go Rhino RB20 right after install.
Very wide in the front.

I ended up flipping them with the narrow part up front.

Overall I’m very happy with them.

Yes I do. I put the wider part to the rear after seeing someone on the Tundra forum that did it, just a little too wide for my liking and most importantly the bosses (she kept hitting her leg off of them) so I flipped them and it definitely made a difference.

 

The only reason I ask is I installed mine yesterday and I almost put them on backwards, on accident. So is there a big difference after you changed them? I agree they are a bit on the wide side.

 

I think the difference is noticeable, the only thing I ran into was the front mounting bracket is made for the wider part of the running board so I ended up making it flush with the board when I flipped them, after a little bit of adjustment everything seems to line up just fine. I’m sure if you wanted it even narrower you could trim the bracket a little bit.
My first thought when I had them on the correct way It looked like I was looking out my door onto a tree stand now it doesn’t seem quite as bad.

How are the steps holding up? And also could you tell me what finish you went with? I believe they have a basic powdercoat and a bed liner coating as well. I like the look of having the wider part of the step in the rear of the truck good idea.

 

It’s a “Bedliner like coating” (Amazon description) They haven’t held up as well as I was hoping and I’m sure that has a lot to do with the garbage they put on Pennsylvania roads during the winter. They did however do a great job in protecting the side of the truck and I never had a lot of ice/snow build up, but keeping them clean is a must because it seems like they held everything underneath that should have hit the side of the truck, not necessarily a bad thing if you keep them clean. In the end I ended up replacing them with a set of 2nd Gen OEM running boards that I picked up from Craigslist. The main reasons I replaced them is the boss was constantly complaining about hitting her leg getting in and out and the coating was peeling. They did look better with the wide part to the rear, I wish I could take credit for that but I got that from a Tundra forum. Hope this helped and if you have any more questions let me know.
