I have a 06 taco with 159,880 and run synthetic oil (Mobil 1 only) since I bought it and it runs so smooth and without a sound at all... trust in the synthetic .. dino oil belongs with the dinos... DEAD lol

Match your oil to your OCI and your usage. If your usage is not nasty extreme, then with a 4K OCI, dino makes the most $$$ sense. BUT, many do extra and choose to pay those $$$ anyway.

You can switch back and forth between synth and dino at will, just may want to adjust your OCI to match. Note that NO oil will give 0 wear. Also, how long an oil can stay in an engine, even with low miles between OCIs, is dependent on the additive package in the oil, not necessarily the oil itself.

I believe that synthetic is a better lubricant and will will reduce friction and wear. I run Mobil1 in the engine and Amsoil in the differential and transfer case.
