    I have not used this particular extender. I have one made by Ohio and sold through Northern Tool. I like it quite well, I don't need a whole lot but when I do there is little else that willallow me to safely carry a long load on a small bed. Mine is very hefty and would recommend it.

    I have seen these in use, they do the trick if you don't overload them

    always put the heavy load closest to the cab if possible

    I had one I got from harbor fright, I used it for a kayak, not that I needed it for the weight of the kayak,but more for the length of the kayak.I put some reflective tape on there also for safety reasons. I paid no more that $60 for mine 4 yrs ago. You can get a 20% off coupon and buy one on sale pretty cheap.
