I’ve always hated how the bed storage compartments dont lock and I recently started making my own little kit that replaces one plastic turn knob with a lock. The kit uses a FTM.inc (my family business) 5/8 cam lock w/dust cover and a 2 inch cam I had to have custom bent.
I have no idea if anyone will be interested in this so I am gauging interest before I have more cams bent.

    Install
Remove bed box lid and remove the screw holding the knob assembly together.

    Remove knob assembly

Use a file and open up the hole just enough for the cam to fit through.(be careful and dont remove to much material)

Cut off the little tab on the back of your new hole.

Install cam lock(do not tighten the cam lock nut while holding the key. You can bend the key and damage the lock)

Got the cam lever bent up today. I went way longer on the lever to maximize how much lever is holding the cover in place. Fits beautifully. Having 200 custom made tomorrow:fingerscrossed:

I like the locks. Would you be able to get them keyed alike? So if I wanted both compartments keyed the same, I only need one key for both?

Both sides will be keyed alike. The kit will include both matching locks to do both sides.

I’m waiting on my price for the cam lever before I can get a for sure. It should be $20 shipped through me and include everything needed to do both storage compartments. It will also be available on Amazon for around $25 dollars to help cover the amazon fees. The ones on Amazon through the business will also not have a dust shutter unlike mine.

Is that 1 per door? Or are you including all 3 for the guys with the power inverter or 4 for those without?

The kit will include two locks. One for each side. I had the lever made as long as possible so the door bending open if someone opens the none locked side isn’t really an issue.

If someone wants extra I can always add locks to the kit.

Another dumb question, but can you remove the key in the unlocked position? or does the key stay in the lock when unlocked and through the turning and only releases when the cam is in the lock position?
For my use of the bins, I normally have not-so-valuables in there, like tie downs and the bed cleats and they are under a locking tonneau cover. I like the idea of leaving them unlocked (key out) on one and using the stock quarter turn knob to keep it shut (I wasn't cool enough to have the power inverter, so I have two latches per bin). Only when I put something of value inside will I insert the key, turn the lock and remove it.

The key can be removed in the unlock position.

Ok guys, I received the new cam levers and everything works great. Price is $20 shipped and comes with the locks to do both storage compartments. If you order through me you will get a cam lock that has a dust shutter. I only have a limited amount of these and will not be ordering more. Or you can purchase them through Amazon and they will not have the dust shutter.

Thanks for all the orders guys! The original lock kit is sold out! Since I got alot of people interested I figured I would change up the kit a little bit. The new kit has an extra trim piece for an OEM look:p
