I've searched and searched and still much confusion.
    Truck: 2006 tacoma sr5 access cab 2.7 automatic 2wd.

I have the stock gearing in it still 8.4" 3.53,awhile back got a Eaton trutrac worm gear locker installed. I want to upgrade to 4.10.

Now some research says they won't fit cause of housing. Is this correct? I'm looking to buy a set of Yukon 4.10 gears and master bearing kit.

You'll be fine. I'm assuming you're a 5 Lug as well based of the posts you've visited. I'm running 4.56 in mine. Just make sure the gear is the right size for your axle. Our rearends are 8.4.
