1st time backing a Kickstarter campaign... Is it normal for these creators to have funding reference their residence address? I noticed the charge on my CC statement and it had an address, googled it and its a house in a residential neighborhood. Definitely not a business address. Still waiting on the product, multiple delays but trying to remain positive. Comms have slowed down from them as well. Wanted to ask some of you KS veterans if that was typical.

 

I wouldn't imagine that's out of the norm. A lot of the products on there are startup businesses people are trying to get off the ground and don't have the money to have an actual business location, just doing it out of their garage with the hopes that they will be able to make it. I have a friend that is part of a startup sriracha company that did Kickstarter and they are still using one of the partners garage as their warehouse.

 

Cool - what I figured for the smaller ones but this one did 15k backers bringing in 2.6m from KS alone. Thanks - going to keep a good thought for now.

 

If it doesn’t get funded do you get your money back?

 

Understand that you’re not buying a product from a retail store. It’s entirely possible that there are problems along the way, and the item may get significantly delayed or fail altogether.

 

I believe they only charge your card once it is successfully funded.

Also I backed a product that had legal problems and had to stop making their product, so they refunded all backers.

 

Regarding Kickstarter in general... To keep it simple, I just assume I'm giving up my money and if I end up with something in exchange I'll consider myself lucky. Sometimes you get lucky.

they claim $10,149,025 total raised. ship dates have been pushed back multiple times - they started deleting facebook posts yesterday from one backer who apparently dug up a possible connection between a "backer" who claims to have received the unit and the company's VP. Apparently they both worked for the same company in the near past. the backer that posted this info to facebook was removed from kickstarter as a backer and apparently received a refund which they never asked for.

They've pushed multiple claims of backers receiving emails with tracking (first day of shipping was touted as june 4 with a promised 50k units being shipped in june) and units being delivered but not one single person anywhere has actually posted receiving let alone a unboxing vid or anything else. troubling to say the least.

really starting to fall apart. many backers are flocking to facebook with pitchforks. the creator was supposed to update yesterday, never did. still nothing.

I foresaw this. I really wanted to order the arsenal based on it's promises but I knew they were crazy lofty and I decided to wait to see if the product actually hit market. If it's true that it was a scam I'm not surprised. It promised to make every photo perfect, which companies with billions of dollars invested into the tech can't do. I had a feeling it was a scam.
