    Wow not too bad. Maybe I won't be worried about waiting until I get a dd to tackle this. Just didn't want to get stuck with the truck out of commission for any reason

    It’s definitely nice to know you have a beater to drive if necessary. It allows you to not feel rushed. Although I was a little rushed yesterday. Told the old lady I was just running by the shop to clean up tools I left out the day before. Decided to try and sneak in a transmission upgrade while I was there.

    Yeah I could borrow the gf's car if need be and would start on Saturday morning so I had all weekend just in case. But I was thinking it was more of an all day project, not a few hrs.

    You should be good. It’s pretty straight forward. I’d make sure you get transmission assembly lube. It was a huge help when reinstalling the VB. I was gonna do my install on Saturday but had to wait for the local parts shop to get the assembly lube.

    It’s only 2 drill bits, 4 Springs, and an oil pan gasket. If you change the filter and use Toyota fluid that’ll cost you another $100 or so.

    I think ipt does a little more than just the Ratiotek kit. You’re also paying for the ease of installation and the knowledge research that they’ve done. I don’t think I would look at the Ratiotek kit as an equal to having ipt build you a valve body

    Thanks for the heads up. I'll definitely grab the assembly lube. Just had tranny fluid flushed about 10k miles ago so I'll probably try to save and reuse the oil. Might look into replacing the filter though

    Yes. After the Ypipe connection and before the Magnaflow.

    Had nasty drone before hand. Now a gentle thrum at 2200+ rpm on the freeway. Nice sound on acceleration. Near silent below 2k.

    Anyone have a recommendation on electric or pneumatic pumps for filling diffs, trans, etc. getting tired of using the hand pump. I’d like to keep it around $200 but I’d go up to $500 if needed

    For personal use I just use a Walmart $5.00 aerosol sprayer. I pulled the tip off the end and added clear silicone tubing for length. Works wonders for tranny fills.

    Define pricey. I'm spending stupid money on my truck too. If it's a big difference in overall performance I'll definitely give it a look. I have a great trans shop locally. Just need to tell them what I want.
