From my research looks like the 3rd gen's use some sort of new refrigerant and not everyone carries it. Anyone recommend a place around Seattle/Tacoma that does? Also if anyone has a rough cost estimate, that would be helpful. Thanks.

Is your truck not still under warranty? Why pay anything if it is covered by the dealer?

Figured this wasn't a warranty item. I'll give them a call. Thanks.

I'm out of touch. I thought 134a was still the norm......... Another reason I'll continue to avoid a 3rd gen. I have R12 and R134a tools, not looking to buy more. :D

I agree with the warranty recommendation. You should go years with no need for refrigerant, unless you have damage that has caused a leak.

So if you have no damage, they need to find and repair the leak.

If you can find the sticker for your system, it will ID the installed refrigerant.

Yeah, there's no way that a 2016+ should need refrigerant this soon without damage.

Yeah, there was damage and the shop that did the work didn't have the new refrigerant.

Anyways, just took it to the dealer and paid them to do it. $190 for labor and $132 for the refrigerant, in case anyone is curious
