Running 1.04 91 octane on a stock '16 OR for about 700 miles now. Having fun with the truck now, tip in is good for me, pulling in & out of the garage, backing up to a trailer, 1.04 is a lot better for me than 1.03. Haven't towed a lot of weight yet, but I can already tell the difference with what I have pulled behind my truck. Like others, my MPG is up, 1.5 on average, according to OBD Fusion, everything is running good temp & and otherwise. The tranny doesn't race thru the gears now, 6th is a little tricky to find it's sweet spot speed & throttle input-wise but I think they made 6th too tall to begin with for a gas V6, especially with the crappy stock tune they saddled the truck with. It's great knowing that when I decided to push the go pedal now, the truck will respond quickly, not think about it like it did stock. Pulling out from an intersection, passing, just staying at a nice clip on the interstate is soooooo much better. On passing, my wife doesn't grab for the handles now like the stock tune that took forever to wind up, drop down 2-3 gears & roar. Now it's smooth & roars when I decide it needs to. Money well spent IMHO. I'll review again after it dries out enough for me to get some fill dirt & topsoil and see how it pulls

Wow. The newest version of the OVTune is great on road. Much more responsive, and it seems to be another step up in power. Seemed to gain a little even over 1.03 although this could also be me getting used to my new ported/polished tundra TB as well. Overall the base tune is phenomenal and I for one can't wait to see what Matt can do on a custom tune for my truck. Biggest thing about 1.04 is you can actually hear the engine working in any gear when you give it more gas. No more delay or lack of power, I can accelerate on the highway in any gear and find myself shifting MUCH earlier than I once did when merging and accelerating. I would consider that a huge win for an N/A motor engine tune. My hat is definitely off to Matt.

Only issue is the idle is slightly less stable on 1.04 than it was on 1.03, but this could easily be caused by the tundraTB mod and it honestly isnt a huge problem in my book.

    Here goes my first post...

Got the Orange Virus Tune for my 17 trd of road automatic about 3 weeks ago and was very excited to get my vehicle moving faster as I was seriously considering trading it in. I set up the tune which wasn't difficult and the company was helpful and responsive. Initially I noticed a huge change in performance and was very pleased HOWEVER now that I have had it for 3 weeks it seems like it's driving slower again and I'm not sure if it's me gotten used to the extra power or it is really happening.

Anyone with any experience please reply!

I didn't know it was out Ill give it a shot. Still would like to know if anyone else experience a relapse of the car going back to original mode after the tune.

Yeah man. He got rid of the whole intelligent shifting.

Reflash it or clear DTCs using pcm flash

For questions about the tune or troubleshooting I’d recommend heading to the Alpha thread. Very abnormal with the current versions to experience degradation. If anything 1.03/1.04 have gotten better as more miles are logged

I had a similar sudden loss of performance and loss of mileage experience running the 1.03 91 tune when I purchased some fuel from a Velero gas station that I normally don't use. After I ran the tank out and refilled on Shell from my normal station the performance and mileage came right back to normal. I've never ran the 87 tune and I'm currently on the 1.04 91 tune with no issues. Good luck.

103 and 104 on 87 gives you no horsepower or torque gains. It just fixes drivabilty issues.

I think extra power even with 91 is more of a feel thing. I don’t recall the exact dyno stats, but I think it was in the ballpark of 30 hp above stock at around 5500 rpm...

You think you would notice 30hp? I haven't run the 91 104 yet.
