I like the colour. Funny thing is I just suggested the same colour to paint all our exterior doors on the house.

Ugh...that color is so 8 minutes ago. We’re going daffodil now. Anyone worth knowing is all about daffodil.

Not sure. We’re working on some graphics concepts but that’ll likely be on hold until next year as my summer is FULL and will lead right into winter when graphics aren’t likely to happen.

We have a co worker that we like that has been working on his pinstriping skills for a few years. We may give him a shot at doing something cool for fun.

All interior corners have epoxy fillets! That’s awesome! Now just to smooth that all out and seam tape it...next week.

Going to start figuring out this door latch. It’s made for (as they all appear to be) a much different door makeup. But I’m sure I can get it to work for me.

Just ordered my windows! That gives me 10 weeks to get everything sorted and ready to go before they get here. Seems like forever but there is so much to do!

Big day today! After a marathon cleaning/sanding/cleaning again/glassing session, all of the interior joints are glass taped. That feels really good. And I’m trashed...lots of crouching and kneeling and overhead work.

As long as we’re talking about taping joints, I may re tape all of the exterior joints. I’m worried that I sanded too much and might have really compromised the glass tape. I’m really bummed about that but it would be easier to re tape now than to repair a ton of cracks after it’s painted and mounted on the truck.

Question for ya....How are you combatting galvanic corrosion between the aluminum and dissimilar metallic fasteners? I just mounted some tie downs, and in my research I am finding that the aluminum will rot away and a very fast pace do to the dissimilar metals being in contact. Im wondering if Uteltd is doing anything (emailed them).

I haven’t noticed any issues at all so far anywhere on the bed. I’ve also never had an issue on any aluminum truck box I’ve ever had in a truck bed. Nor with any aluminum truck bed racks. Maybe in a much saltier environment it might be a problem (presence of electrolytes)? The surface of bare aluminum will get a bit weird looking (spotted and chalky) but I’ve never had anything corrode to any concerning degree.

awesome. I did email Randy, and he pretty much just stated that the bed will out last the truck and use stainless or galvanized fasteners. I am guessing it isn't an issue as the back rack is a galvanized piece of steel on aluminum...

I will try and do this just to help. Thanks

Also, got the cap on the flat bed, not as cool as yours but its definitely something different.

Yep. Just stupid stuff that may be the standard but for the price of the thing shouldn’t be. Like fully weld the joints, find a way to not tex screw everything together and use bolts (especially for mounting the roof rack). If a tex screw or rivet is sticking out, redo it. If the back door doesn’t close, maybe file away material so it does.....just stupid things that are easily fixed but not expected. Should of known when I picked the cap up and the display model at the store had similar issues.
