2006 non jbl factory head unit

Anyone else have an issue where the combined power and volume button works ok to turn it on and off but is erratic turning the volume up and down? I've tried compressed air and alcohol to clean it up but it still acts odd. When I try to turn it down it will randomly turn up and jump from like 19-20 to the 30s .once it hits the 30s it's almost impossible to turn down.

I can use the wheel volume just fine so it's not a big issue just a quirk I'd like to fix if possible cheaply.

And yup I'm planning to swap it out eventually for a new head unit .
