People tend to confuse power with torque.

I think for daily activities and to move out of the line faster, this truck needs low end grunt (torque)
I’m currently waiting to install the OV tune because of that, 25+ Ft lbs gains through mid range up to5500 RPM.

Peak power? Don’t care right now.
Once the truck is moving and in the upper range, it goes good.

It is accelerating in the 1500 to 3500 rpm range that it lacks torque (daily RPM range)

There are a lot of theads of people looking for power. It is looking for torque.

Blowers
Instant and fat torque curve.

I have mod my rides, NA, turbos, centrifugals an blowers since 2003.
Blower torque is the most amazing, but I do it for racing purposes because in the street all of that power is a waste. (I don’t Race on the street). Probably for those towing, could have a benefit however.

I have the OVtune which accounts for roughly 30hp through the midrange, particularly from 2000-3500 rpm, as well as a tundra ported/polished tb, an adapter plate port matched to the tb and the intake manifold on each side, afe intake, and urd spec u exhaust. When I get my custom tune I would be more than happy to hop on a dyno and prove you wrong, but until then suffice it to say my MT is faster than most of the other tacos I run into and I have 33s, steelies, a light bar, and 300 lbs worth of skid plate and sliders

Also, a supercharger is more like 5x his budget but at that point whose counting

 

Save for a regear and get better mpg while your at it.

 

Dat lightbar can def add half a second 0-60

There is no belief involved. Belief implies that what I am talking about is not an objective, tangible, and measurable thing. I will get my truck on a dyno one day but I don't own one so until then I guess we can just agree to disagree, you can save your money and I can enjoy the vastly improved driving characteristics and moderate increase in power my modifications have provided

 

If you ever tuned a car you would know 30hp is easy to get with exhaust, intake, headers and other small bolt ons. You don't see any gain really till you start to tune. Timing and afrs are very conservative on stock tunes for reliability .

 

Do you know which SC is used in the 5th Gen 4runners?

 

TVS1320. only TVS1900 I've seen used on are the V8s.

My vastly improved MPGs, and more low down torque dont require "belief". I can hold speed on hills in 4th that it couldn't hold before. Good enough for me.
