So today I started hearing this god awful squeaking coming from under my truck towards the rear somewhere. It only makes the sound when accelerating forward going 5-30mph. It goes away if I’m coasting but once I tap the gas it comes back. Any other time it doesn’t make a sound. When I first heard it I thought it was my u joints on my drive shaft. I greased them all up and they took the carrier bearing and put some oil around the rubber part, but it still makes the sound. The squeaking is almost like a rubbery sound. Definitely not metal on metal. Does anyone know what this could be ??

Remove your rear drive shaft, put it in 4hi and see if it goes away. Sounds like a ujoint from your description.

Universal Joint or carrier bearing. Just because you squirted grease into the joint doesn't mean that one of the bearings isn't still dry and worn out.

Pull the drive shaft and check each joint. If one is worn replace them all.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm having the same issue and I have a brand new drive shaft to include the carrier bearing... joints were greased and re greased. Still happening

A new carrier bearing and u joints fixed my issue but I’m not sure what would cause your squeak. Maybe try another carrier bearing, could be defective.

I'm having it looked at today, I sprayed some WD40 on the carrier bearing and it has been quiet since, think it needed some lube/grease. I dont see where I can grease it myself or I would
