Even if you're close to civilization, I think the most important part of any first aid kit is to control any large blood loss, to get the injured person stabilized for transport to a medical facility. Minor injuries, such as cuts, bruises, sprains and strains are generally covered by most basic kits.

Also, consider your group and the possible medical issues that might arise. Bee stings, food and environmental allergies, asthma, children, seniors, etc. Then beef up your first aid kit to possibly meet those needs: I always carry a fresh EpiPen, albuterol inhaler, allergy meds.

Lastly, but most important. Please make sure you understand and know your first aid kit and how to use it's contents.

Yup. I got 5 recall replacements. Took 6 months, but finally got ‘em.

 

Mine fits in my seatback pocket of my access cab just fine and has been there for months.

 

I have a few flexy bandaids and a paint can opener from a geocash. Does that count?

 

Probably depends on just how flexy they are.

 

Youd never realize how much space you really gain with that extra 2 feet....

Yup. They do much better with a bleed than flexy bandaids.
