I don't think Ed will be attending, he is happy with his big guns and endless property up there in Nevada

Possibly will make it down but might just be for the day or maybe longer. Just depends on what I have going. Won't know till it gets closer. Only a 3hr drive for me though. I'll put it on the calendar and definitely try to make it. I am spoiled up here but California took all the nice mountains and sweet high country fishing lakes and streams.

Camping at Laurel Lake would be a tight squeeze if all the rigs that say they are going end up going. The area by the lake is not really all that big. Not to mention if others are already there. But there are lots of areas all around there to camp. Just need to do some exploring and you will find them

@TacoSauceHB Here are some camping areas near Mammoth.

You can check Upper and Lower Deadman CG, but I personally wouldn't because most of the sites are small and I rarely see empty spots in these two campgrounds. But it won't hurt to drive through and look. I would certainly check Glass Creek CG because of the number of sites (many of them large) and it's free; check both sides of the creek. Also check Big Springs CG. There aren't many spots but there are a few that would work for a large group. If all those fail you can look for a site between Big Springs and 395. There are sites (Forest Service dispersed camping, no amenities including bathrooms) just off of Owens River Road (the road that leads to Big Springs). In fact, you will see campers a little ways off the road on your way into Big Springs on both sides of the road.

    Good luck!
