Will most places change the oil in Tacomas? It's my understanding that you have to remove a door in the skidplate and you don't actually replace the entire body of the filter just the insides. Wondering if most places like Jiffy lube will do this or even stock the replacement innards. Thanks.

the removable plate is on Pros only. Off-roads have a skid plate that has the be removed as a whole and the believe sports, sr's and sr5 do not have any skid plate in the way. Also the cartridge filter isnt a new thing to the industry and the 3rd gen Tacoma has been out for almost 3 years now and covers a giant share of the market so would be stupid to not stock the filters.

Now for going to jiffy lube... Im not going to comment on that.

Yes, they can do it and they will do it, the cartridge filter has been around for a while, but I would not let Jiffy Lube touch any of my vehicles. I won´t even take my wifes 2000 minivan with 160,000 miles on it to one of those places.

The question is "Will the guys at Jiffy Lube re-install and tighten the bolts on your skid plate?"

Most likely, no. I've caught those places in the past by writing the mileage on my filter. I've gone out to write the mileage on the new filter only to see my handwriting from the last change. My truck will never see a quick lube place. With a 10k interval, they skip it one time, you're rocking 20k miles on a single filter.
