Would like to run some bigger tires on my 18' OR 4x4 without changing out the whole suspension system. Unfortunately 275 are only offered in the BFG KO2 and i'm not the biggest fan of their look. Was hoping to go with Nitto ridge grapplers or Toyo. This is my first truck and first run at this so please, any help would be appreciated.

Possible to fit 285s on Stock suspension? Yes.

Will it rub all over the place? Yes.

Do you need a lift to clear 285s? Yes.

Will it still rub after getting a lift? Maybe.

    Lift + CMC + More trimming = 285s

Without lifting, I wouldn’t attempt 285’s. It’ll rub like crazy.

You know they should make your answer a sticky for that frequently asked question. Summed it up perfectly

Nitto makes the Ridge Grapplers in a 255/80/17. It’s a taller but narrower tire. Just put in 255/80/17 in the search, there is a couple hundred posts. Some claim no lift and no rub, but I don’t know if it’s true. It would seem very close to me.
