I wouldn't worry about it in so cal. Just get some corrosion X and spray them once in awhile. For any high end coilover really. It's a big investment and have to make them last.

Just purchased these about 2 weeks ago.. haven’t had time to put them on yet..did some research and I would definitely hit up @HeadStrong Off-Road. Marie was a lot of help for someone confused and just couldn’t make up their minds (me)

Nice man, Hope there are no regrets. I'd like to see a test run once you have them installed. That can help with my determination. I can head out to Murrieta?

I’ve heard the opposite of that lol. Who knows, maybe it’s all just a bunch of BS... All I know is my kings have lasted amazingly through Alaskan winter, I don’t have any regrets.

Could be. After all I'm pretty sure they use the same material for the shock body lol.

Only thing rusted on my fox is surface rust on the hose fittings and only on the front right for some reason. All the shock bodies look like new still even after our winter here .Can't say the same for all the armour but meh.

I do fluid film them and take a lot of preventative measures since with all the salt on the roads rust is a common thing here.

Yeah luckily we don’t have salt on the roads up here, just a bunch of gravel and cracked windshields lol I’m sure no matter what shock you have if it endures salt, it’s gonna get some sort of surface rust. Basically guaranteed.

I run Fox 2.5 C/O with RR and Fox 2.0 3-5" lift in the rear. I have minimal surface rust from running sea water on them quite often which I think holds up fairly nice. You can't expect threads that have been used and exposed not rust once the coating has been removed. Its also recommended that you clean your coilovers every couple thousand miles. I know accutune has a thread on Fox 2.0 vs King 2.0 and fox were superior in material of construction and nitrogen pressure to prevent cavitation which is critical. Also combining various materials will actually cause some components to corrode faster. Current Kings shocks use cadmium coating which is superiors to Zinc coating for corrosion especially in salty environment but zinc is usually preferred since cadmium is highly toxic. There may be a few clear coats to prevent direct contact but a damaged or used King shocks could pose health issues.
