Both look like they would fit in the bucket, however the options are 2 wire connection with a reverse polarity trigger which would require additional control hardware. A relay for each side minimally. Very possibly additional resistors would also be required. The listing from Autolumination is cheaper, but it also is non-returnable and appears to be a cheaper construction as well. Additional time, energy, and wiring in resolving the polarity reversal does create an obstacle. Either one also lends itself to being an easily reversion to stock if I ever needed or decided to do so.

:hattip:Thanks for the suggestion, I will keep them in mind and include them on my list of options.

I solved the polarity issue with The following relay:

    http://www.exledshop.com/universal-...-9p-pwm-2way-switchback--controller-copy.html

As for resistors, I haven’t tested the harness on the truck yet. Wasn’t happy with one of the fake connectors for the plug and okay harness. So waiting on it’s replacement before hooking it all up.
Tested the reverse/turn past of the harness and it works fine. Haven’t tested the part that links the old turn with the brake.

I've always wondered if someone made something like this...it's so much easier to add a resistor this way!

I don't see a wiring digram, but I assume that this resistor/harness only adds the resistor to the top harness between the blinker's signal wire and the ground. Unfortunately, it isn't enough to work for the DD TaT setup.

    1) It needs to be at least 9 ohms (this one is 8 ohms although I bet you can find this in 9 ohms too).
    2) It would only plug into the top harness (the blinker section), but with the TaT, you need to cut into both the top and the middle harnesses so that you are combining the turn signal with the brake signal.

Has to be at least 9ohms? I swear I've read through this thread and seen people say 6/8/10? I'm not running LEDs anywhere else but the tails (will do brake/turn signal, running and backup).

LOL, yeah, it took us a few tries to appease all of the gremlins... :)

So far, no one has run into issues with 9, 10, or even 11 ohms when using the DD TaT mod with LED tail lights. That last part is important because you may be able to use less ohms (or no resistor) if you don't use the TaT module (depending on the LED's your planning to use).

I had several people honk and flick me off for ‘cutting them off’ when I had used my turn signal well in advance. I’ve noticed now that people will rapidly slow down or even stop passing me entirely if they notice my amber turn signal. It really is a major improvement.

    a few...
I installed the same OPT7 Redline bar when they first became available last year but I used this Curt wiring harness which looks identical to the one you listed above. Keeps all the wires hidden from sight.

It does look identical. Probably made in the same factory, just with a different label.

lol. Don't worry, the ohm talk was for the other method (the Turn-as-Tail mod) which does not involve the switchbacks in the reverse light section.

To add the switchback triton V6, you will need to modify your tail light housing because the reverse light is a 921 bulb, but VLED does not offer the switchbacks in a 921 bulb as of now. If you go back a page or two, you will see what they had to do in order to make it work. So it is not a straight forward swap either.

No resistor necessary when installing the Vleds V6 Triton switchbacks in the reverse socket. I initially installed the resistor That Vleds had recommended. When I installed the resistors they provided too much resistance and only allowed the signal to blink once. I removed the resistor and it works as it should. I should also note that I do not have leds in my front turn signals—not sure if I would require the resistors in that case.

I would like to do the same. I am not an amber fan. Is it similar to the 2nd Gen twilight mod?

Late to the party, but did Meso ever get that 99% PnP kit for the tail-light housing?

Nope. I doubt he will anytime this year...this one is not high on his list of things to do.

I just ordered the Triton bulbs. Lets see if I can do this. I am sucesfull I will have diode dynamic tils as turns and also resistors available for sales since those are already on the car.

I'm not sure what that mod is.

The Turn-as-Tail mod turns the whole tail light into both the brake light AND the blinker...so no amber for the blinker. This isn't my truck, but it's a great demo of the stock function on the right along with the TaT mod on the left:

The wiring diagram at the top of the last page is what you will need in addition to the hardware.

For the hardware, you only need the DD TaT module (they come as a pair), two 9-ohm resistors (10-ohm also works), and four 7440/7443 LED bulbs.

You will also want some silicone or heat shrink to help weatherproof the TaT module and all of the connections.

The only tools you will need is a 10mm wrench, wire cutters, a solder gun (preferred) or a crimping tool to connect the wires, and a heat gun (only if using the heat shrink).

I did post some pictures of the back of the tail lights on page 5 or 6 of this thread...but others have also posted some pictures since then, so it might help if you skim through those as well. Then just connect everything together as it is in the diagram, and you'll be good to go!
