@OVTune when can we expect files sent out? Can we use tune files with the same ECU version or do you build specific files for our licence?

 

Is anyone still waiting for the registry file? I'm a very patient person but almost 48 hours after I sent my information I'm still waiting. I understand Matt is very busy and 12 hours ahead of my time zone...Guess I am just anxious to install the tune!

 

I am still waiting but I only submitted my info about 18 hours ago.

I think this is expected. Pay $750 for something you’re anxious to use and after 11 days of waiting and the “few hours away” comment doesn’t help. I know Matt’s a busy guy, we are all excited to use his product and I believe he understands that.

Order was placed on the 11th what about it? And like I said the “few hours away” comment put everyone on edge as expected.

 

All these human intervention steps for this process seems like a waste of resources and ultimately results in frustrated customers.

1. Download a piece of software.
2. Run the software.
3. Email the results of that run and wait for a reply.
4. Run the software contained in the reply.
5. Email the results of that run and wait for another reply.
6. ..........

Just saying there must be a more efficient way of doing this.

 

I don't want to tie up a good thread. But the ones who have applied the tune love it and are enjoying it. I have read the first page of this thread multiple times. I understand the regional and time difference...And the fact that Matt is very busy and fully support what he does. That being said I have a $785.55 cable, OBDII connector and carrying case that does nothing as of now. I'm not bitching or complaining...I simply asked if anyone else is still waiting for the registry file?

 

He said he’s working on it. This is a new product (< 1 year) and the first of its kind for this truck.

 

After we jump thru the hoops, and take the measures to protect his intellectual property .. and do remember he’s a one man show. The process will be streamlined thru an offsite, where updates and custom tunes reachability will be simplified at both ends. His customer base is growing and thus ... growing pains are felt. Not to mention the poor guy has been starring at a computer screen all day, has jet lag and is probably crashed out on the keyboard right now...

All this misplaced anger. We must redirect it to the real culprit, the underpants gnomes. They clearly have branched out their enterprise and have stolen our keys or quite poissbly stolen Mat’s underpants and have him extremely busy trying to get new sets and trying to catch them.

No file, be patient. Use humor or fire to keep you occupied.

In 2016, 191,673 Tacomas were sold in the US and Canada and another 198,124 in 2017, I can only imagine another 200K in 2018.

As far as I can see, OVTune has had <5K customers for this Tacoma product, that is only 1% of the potential 3rd Gen market.
If this tune grabs the desire of even 10% of the 3rd Gen Tacoma customers, OVTune will have a serious logistics issue with the current software distribution process. Hopefully he is on track to streamline through offsite.

Not a bad position for OVTune to be in....but many more frustrated customers following the current S/W distribution process.

 

I thought you were going to “don’t get your underpants in a wad”, which is what seems to be happening.

 

Underpants are for kids and old folks. You know what those two groups have in common? They get cranky. Forgo the underpants and you can live a free and easy life.

 

Are the ECU/TCU files suppose to be vlc media files?
