I took the deep plunge and upgraded the speakers in my '18 Tacoma. Full dynamat on the outer door skins and back wall. I can no longer hear the rumble of my new KO2s. Ran speedwire with the highs back to an AudioControl LC-6.1200...what an awesome amp. Upgraded to Infinity refs up front and kicker in the rear.
Today I was about to place my order for a stealth box but my crutchfield rep caught the fact that Stealth box runs at 2 ohms while my LC-6.1200 can only bridge to 4 ohm. Looking for recommendations. I do have a spare Alpine Mx-50 I could mount under the seat, but I would be wasting 2 channels on the amp. Crutchfield recommended returning the amp for a 4 channel, but I really want to keep this amp. Maybe some more fill speakers somewhere? 8"s? If I build a box, I imagine a slim mount woofer is required AND I have to find one at 4 ohms. While I used to build boxes many years ago, I just had my truck in pieces in my garage for 6 days and I need a break. Or run the Stealth box with 200 watts instead of 400?

    Thoughts?

Entirely too much money to waste for half the power. Sure the stealth is great and sure if you want to spend the money to say you have it ok then. Completely spending money and not doing justice. It would bother me knowing it’s a wrong match.

Honestly it’s as the saying goes you get what you pay for I honestly thought it was high priced stealthbox but it is worth it
In my opinion I did not want to rip out the back cubbies and have to find someplace in my garage to store it.
As for the performance it sounds great it’s no JL W7 but it’s worth the 700$ price tag I have a JL 500/1 amp pushing it the sub is on the passenger side and built an amp rack on the driver side
I also upgraded my door speakers to JL C1 series I’m just type of guy wants to keep it all the same

I had a lot of sound system before from mix and match to all one company
But each his own hope this helps

I'm very happy with it. Hit's hard enough for the occasional rap song, hits deep enough for the occasional EDM/house, and handles my flavors of rock very well. Bass guitar especially. Very clean.

A few mods here and there and counting....
You're better off getting a custom enclosure and getting a sub that fits the amp's power handling.

I was looking at going custom with a JL 10 but been waiting since Feb for a Mr Marv box. Definitely curious to how comparble the kicker loaded comprt boxes are to that setup. Im running C1s up fromt and I love how the shallow JLs sound, but it is very hard finding someone to build an enclosure

How is the bass on this? I have had ported enclosures before in my truck but lower powered. The bass was amazing and not overpowering my system. Do you still like it after months of ownership?

Yeah I still like it’s not that big shaking bass like you get with a full size sub and ported box but I still love it good enough bass for me

Thank you. I wanted it to give some depth to my music. Don’t need it to really shake the truck or wake the neighborhood. But I do like it to hit the low notes and bump a little. Will it do that? Thank you for letting me know. I’m glad I have one coming. Anything I need to watch for with regards to install and long term?

Coming from a JL Audio homer...the TW-3 is going to sound better than any kicker you buy. The kicker can get loud and will rumble but in terms of sound quality you cant beat the TW-3 shallow mount. That is, subs you will fit behind the seat.

I did 2 JL 10”s in factory boxes. Same price as 1 stealth box. Never have to push the limits and it will give you all you want unless you’re looking for a 4 x 15” type setup. A little plastic cutting and they fit perfect.

I might add there is nothing wrong with the kicker, especially to save some money. It’s just not the same quality the JL will be.
