I was curious if anyone else likes to have a daily driver vehicle. I got into this habit when I started driving 14 years ago when my trucks got 12 miles a gallon, I ran a crew cab 4x4 full bed silverado for 12 years and it was a pain to park and ate me alive in fuel. With the Tacoma, I about break even on keeping a second vehicle. But I keep miles and dings off Tacoma despite the fact I take it down the trails and hunting club Roads.

With that said, if you daily drive a non-3rd generation Tacoma post them up!

2006 xb I bought from my Mom when I sold all my fun cars to fund a new truck, which was a 2015 Sierra z71 crew cab standard bed. I loved the powerplant, but i had frame rust issues and a shake and was very let down my GM. I traded it in on my 2018 Tacoma manual (love me some manual). The xb...Its slow, boring and insanely utilitarian. The little 1.5 is an outstanding motor with proven reliability. I would actually have to try to get worse than 31mpg. We are expecting our first child (girl!) and the xb is damn near the best child rearing vehicle ever.

This is my daily rider. Unless its 20 degrees or below or just a complete frog drowner, I am riding.

Man, I feel you. I rode a bike for years as a daily. Sv650, Katana and for a while a ninja 250. I loved the sv650 with a passion, but it caused too many family issues and riding here is truly dangerous.

M-Sport or ZAM (Canadian ZHP)? I had an '05 ZAM coupe, 6sp, 2005, IR over Alcantara. Wish I never sold it!

It's a Canadian M-Performance. I wanted a red one, but these are so hard to find. Quite a few people trying to sell the M-Sport as a ZHP here.
Mine only has 111,000 kms on it.

Yup. People are ignorant and dishonest all over the place.

M-Perf is the ZAM package. ZHP but without the power seats and red needles on the gauge cluster, if I remember correctly. Been quite a few years since I sold mine. A wonderful daily driver.

If you're not already on there, check out the forum at zhpmafia.com. Best enthusiast forum (of any model/make/sport) I've ever come across. Great group of people.

Mods: Is this still a Tacoma?

I second that, 05 G35 6MT Sport Coupe. I too fell in love with the natural exhaust tone, it was and still is ahead of it's time. After 05, I noticed the tone on the coupes started to become more dialed down, whereas now it's pretty much non existent. I'm hanging onto it in hopes that one day when the rest are all gone, it will become the fair lady of its day...it being 6MT sets it apart from the rest. I've garaged it all it's life and those who see it still think it's off the showroom floor...even with 160K on the ODO. I bought the Taco to be my daily driver because of all the modern day gadgets and safety but realized, I am in no rush to rack up miles, so it became my weekend toy and despite me dreading LA traffic with a 6MT, I do it to allow my taco to become behind on miles...I usually take my taco out for short around town errands or if I need my toddler in with me, then there is no way in hell I'll risk him being in the low a$$ coupe, not to mention back breaker to get him in and out. The other daily is the wife's Levante.

I had an 03 coupe prior to this 08 HR. it definitely got a lot more quiet! But I agree with you 100% on what you posted. Plus the popularity is increasing with aftermarket support. I figured when the VQ gets tired down the road, a 2JZ can replace it (now that wiring specialties makes a harness to keep AC) and I can have another Toyota motor! Woohoo!
