Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
Yeah just about. Can't go up much higher because of tire size. No different than what my Tacoma had for rear up travel. Only so much trimming you can do on the back. Will already be trimming quiet a bit.

Here's a look at the back of the taco. I added 1.5" spacers beyond this too.

I prefer the limited uptravel, it keeps the tires out of the body work, pushes the frame up and out of the rocks and allows the opposite side to droop further while maintaining traction. Is it perfect, no... but in the world of trade offs it's one I'm more than happy to make.

The rear wheel arches are definitely a challenge to work around on our 80s but running limited uptravel in the 70/30 aspect makes a shit ride where you are always on the bumpstops. I can see how it might've worked on the Taco but with the shorter WB and weight of an 80 i feel like you'd be better off with a shorter stroke to allow for more balance. How much up travel are you planning for the front?

I dont want to come off as a hater/naysayer, just trying to talk tech. :drunk:

    Okay negative Nancy.

No but in all seriousness my ride isn’t bad and I’m abojt an inch from bump stops. All depends on what bumps you run. My Timbrens are pretty squishy

lol no you're right about that, bumpstop squishyness will play a huge part in this. I just know slamming bumpstops feels different in my SUVs(4Rs/FZJ80) than it did in my tacoma.

Oh yeah definitely does. But then again you can’t cut as much out of the rear in SUV’s as trucks so it sucks. Nature of the beast

The other big difference like we kinda talked about on the phone a few nights ago was usage, i dont daily my rig but i do have to drive it to the trail where as you and Loco will more than likely trailer them so i may feel the need for more uptravel whereas it wont ever be as an issue for yall.

Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
Hater! Running 14s up front. I'm happy about 3" of up... really lowering the frame back down on these springs and still have lots of travel is far better than the other OME setup I had. There I had no droop and uptravel for days. Do I wish I could have another inch or 2 of up travel... sure but I'm pretty stoked with what I've got. Worst case I toss in a spring spacer and get that inch i want... but at the expense of a little more height on the frame.

Squishy is on its way to my place now and some 2" DOM to get some decent bump stop action going on.

Trailering and realizing that slinging around super swampers and double bead locks on road isn't a thing is huge in how I'm building now. Was concerned with on road handling when I started... now I don't even consider it. I want traction, control and flex.

Lots of bolt on chrome stuff
This burrito has gone through more suspension and tires than my taco in the same amount of time. And I've put 60k on the taco while the burrito was on jack stands. Moar :sawzall: so you can :mudding:!

Making more progress. Gonna hit it hard tomorrow and be ready to tack everything in early next week and get to welding. Got the steerings arms off to get chopped and reamed for the 1 ton steering. Hoping to be pretty close within the next 2 weeks. Need to sell my house soon.
