Happy Memorial day everyone!
Got a bunch of yard work done then some friends came over for a picnic, fishing and shooting.
@PyritePirateBill this is one of the bass out of the pond.
Now relaxing by a fire with my wife and a drink.

 

The tenderloins were salt, pepper, and a wild game rub i got from a guy in Leesburg, 1 1/2 on each side and cut with a fork.

 

Decided to go to the viewing party at Capital One Arena. This place is nuts. So LOUD!

 

SinceI’m only a few blocks from ther I’m thinking of going

 

3 different jurisdictions. 2 were by the same officer.

Atmosphere at the arena was pretty electric. A couple of trolls walking around in Vegas jerseys that had a "BOOOO" sound track playing in their heads all night. You could always tell where they were because of that. Everybody else was in Caps gear and the high fives with everyone around you during good Caps plays were abundant.

Never found the mythical $4 beer, though my daughter said they were selling smaller cups someplace in there - I just got the 20oz tall boys for $14 each (usual price at that arena). The pic I took above was 35 minutes before the puck dropped - we had to sit in the upper bowl at an angle. If you go, you'll want to sit in the 200s section and that means grabbing a seat by 7:15 or so at the latest. It has the best view of the big screen.

As for the hockey game itself (after that stupid Disney on ice show Vegas put on before the game ) this is what happens when the Caps don't play to their strength and do the old run and gun hockey that got them drummed out of every other playoff series in the past 10 years. I think MAF was in their heads and they wanted to pierce him early and often to show he's mortal but that meant the Vegans were able to do that to Holtby on the other end. Hope tomorrow night the Caps return to the style of play that got them this far.

that Caps game though.... solid offensive show, but defense didnt show up.

it doesnt hurt that they can just cross check our defense out of the way and score in front of the net like that either.
