Getting mine ready to go in. Before I finish mine we need to set up my friends J105 for racing the Figawi next weekend. Just went in yesterday still need to tune the rig, get the sails on and check all the hardware.

    Mine is the red+white sail

You have the best scenery up there!

Hahaha yeah it is beautiful up here. I like the cape as well, it’s just a different kind of scenery. The coast of Maine is an amazing place to sail though!!

Got some incredible pictures today at the end of our sail when an unexpected storm popped up over Camden, ME. Made for some beautiful pictures before we got soaked lol.

Spent the weekend doing the Figawi race. Put a couple hundred miles on the boat over the past 4 days. Race didn’t go our way. Our sole spinnaker halyard parted about 10 minutes into a couple hour downwind leg.(sucks to lose 40% of our downwind power) So we ended up losing sight of most of our class on that leg ended up in 5th. our first time without a podium finish in a few years.
    25F7839E-9768-4422-AEA0-D6D79AE02AD3.jpg
Right after the halyard parted. Still have the sprit out. The busted line core compared with how it should look.

Yea it’s been awesome this year. I just caught up in the finish.

I really enjoyed watching them sail into Newport. They battled in the low wind and currents approaching the finish. I had to fast forward that part it was so slow. But I really thought it was cool because I remember being stuck in a J24 doing the same things in the same spot during a race a couple years back. Wish I had time to drive down and watch the in port bouy races they did.

I was bummed that AC wasn’t better received in SF. I actually worked for ESPN for the last one in San Diego. Worked on SailTrack for live broadcast. Met so many of the crews too.

Volvo sure has figured out how to make racing exciting. Embedded journalists, drone footage. On board cameras. Plus they’ve made great packages for social media that get you up to speed in not too much time.

That must have been fun to work on, plus meeting those guys is awesome. I like how it was filmed and broadcasted.
Only thing I didn’t really care for was the foiling cats are so far away from what I know as sailing. Yea the power, speed and show was there. Just it was more like drag racing than sailing. Looking forward to the next one see how the redesigned boats look.

I agree with respect to hull design. If you like the cats, stay with 5-O racing.

I put a new Simrad speed/depth/wind in this winter. Last Wednesday racing windex stopped working.

Couldn’t determine if it was the instrument, display or wire. Sent someone up checked the wiring no issues. Finally brought it down and hit it with a hammer. Works again. I will warranty it at some point but I want it for the next couple races.

I found a crack in the base of my mast over the weekend, so i wanted to drop it off at the welding shop last night so it could be done first thing in the morning. The welding shop is literally 5 blocks from my house. So we decided it would be quicker to just carry the mast there than load it ontop of the truck.

This is us, carrying my H22 mast down Broadway, through east Jackson. So ridiculous (im aware the pic isnt even worth having its so blurry. sorry)
