Just put 285/75 BF KO2's on my 06 Tacoma, previously had 285/75 Cooper ATP's. Never had an issue with rub on UCA, Now I am rubbing on UCA with KO2's. Will aftermarket UCA's fix my problem? Not on stock rims, don't want to use a spacer. Its only when I get close to full lock.
I'm looking at aftermarket UCA's but I don't want to spend the 4-500$ for something that is not going to fix the problem.

Doubtful it will fix the problem. You need a wheel with less backspacing. What wheels are you running?

For reference I'm running 295/70/17 cooper st maxx on FJ wheels with 4.5" backspacing, with total chaos ucas and they still rub the UCAs. aftermarket arms don't provide much if any extra clearance

have you had any long term issues from it? Its not a bad rub, think my offset is -12. Its rubbing when I get close to full lock.

None at all so far. Mine only rubs at full lock, but it rubs the UCAs and the rear portion of the frame rail. My wheels have a -15 offset i believe. If its not chewing up the tires, then i wouldnt worry about it personally. I ran some 3/4” spacers for a couple thousand miles and that cleared up the rub on the ucas but then they rubbed the fender flares more. The spacers also caused me steering wheel shakes so i ripped them off, threw them away and havent looked back. I hate spacers personally, just another thing that can go wrong imo

Thanks, I just put the new tires on wed. I think because they have more aggressive tread I am rubbing on the UCA now. Gives a nice look to the truck though

they are not stock, I found them on Amazon. read the dimensions and gave them a whirl. So far so good and it keeps my truck a lot cleaner with the bigger tires too. Its a tight fitment though with those new tires. Im surprised how much difference the BF 285's made compared to the cooper 285's.

Yeah i need to come up with a solution for mine. My rockers are getting eaten up. I may get some rockblokz or try and trim the stockers to fit

Got the same wheels but silver! Love em had the black ones on my 05 like yours. I'm running 265 70 had 285 no rub, some on ucas in full lock. But got these for a good deal. For the winter. 12 top 05 second. Both 3rd mine are -11 off set I think.IMG_20180528_220304_951.jpg IMG_20180404_100916_027.jpg IMG_20180404_102021_908.jpg

You buy the headlights on your 05 or put that tint over them? I have gone back and forth in my head with wanting the smoked headlights or the ones with black housings around the bulb itself. I like the smoked look though.

Those were custom I bought some cheap ones from ebay and took them apart and sealed them up myself. Those were the best headlights after I got a hold of them when I got them they were junk, even though they were brand new. But the headlights were dark as you see in the picture in the day. At night when they heated up they were clear as stocks. They were so cool. Still haven't found a good pair for the 2.5 Gen Tacomas.
