Has anybody installed the alarm/glass breakage system in their Taco?
    Toyota Part Number: PT398-35160

Designed to integrate with the keyless entry system—no need for an additional remote
Automatic rearming and relocking, door-ajar warning, interior light activation, panic alarm, rolling code technology and disabling of the starter
Glass breakage sensor(GBS)includes a highly sensitive microphone that detects the sound -frequency of an object striking on glass or glass breakage
Warn-away alarm is triggered if an object strikes a window
Alarm Is activated if someone tries to force open a door or if glass is broken

This is not the right kit! I have the part number, but I'm at the different local today and don't have access to it. I can send the correct kit to you on Monday. The GBS kit does not require the use of the techstream tool.

I just printed off the instructions for the kit I have and the last step is using a tech stream to configure. Do you have another way? I don't have access to techstream.

Just found out my truck has the engine immobilizer anti theft system. No need to upgrade other than add the glass breakage system. Thanks for the info..

Can you send me the right part number you were referring to? I have a 2017 off-road auto with tech package? Thanks

Did you ever install this? What did you do about tech stream?

Also, has anyone else purchased another type of tech stream program from Amazon that can complete this installation?

If you already have factory keyless entry is this system plug and play?

Hello, I bought a 2019 Taco SR5 and tried to install the GBS using the V2 guide, which instructed to discard the dummy hood switch jumper since my taco doesn't even have that harness in the front; my hood latch doesn't have the alarm harness nor microswitch that tell my ECU the hood status. I installed the GBS and module from the OEM security system package and activated the security system with Techstream. However, upon activation, the hood ajar warning appears on my dash, and I cannot arm my alarm with the hood ajar error. So do you guys by any chance have a solution to this problem? Thank you all in advance.

No one every answered the main question here and the answer is..if you have a 2016+ Tacoma with the factory alarm (blinking red light on the dash that goes solid after 30 seconds) and you have the smart key system (pushbutton start), I can confirm that you can install this plug and play. No tech stream needed. I just finished installing on my 21 Pro. GB sensor seems to work perfect on 6.

It's plug and play, I have it installed on my 2020 OR with smart key. I set the sensitivity on the module to the max and it works flawlessly. Should not take more than 20 mins to install, In my case the front harness where the dummy plug goes to already had something plugged in to it and skipped that step.

Does anyone know if this GBS will also detect if someone is cutting the catalytic converter off of the truck? Just curious if I should buy this.

No it won’t. On a truck a the closest thing would be a shock sensor, but you’d probably have to set it so sensitive to detect cat theft that it would be going of falsely all the time. Tilt sensor that would detect vehicle being jack up is the best for this, but the Tacoma doesn’t need to be jacked up to remove cats.
