A little late to the party on belts

I have an SOE cobra belt, a couple Blackhawk riggers belts and a Black Dog Defense cobra belt

For all day everyday wear, the BDD gets most use just because it’s a bit wider and more comfy than the SOE...and stiffer than the riggers belts

I have been using a 5.11 Double Duty for over 3 years now, so I’m sure any of those would be a huge upgrade.

I have the low profile edc. The fact that it's got a ~4" usable range is fantastic since you can get a snug fit no matter what might be in your waist band.

It’s nice, and I’m sure you get what you pay for, but I can’t bring myself to spend that much on a belt.

There are many things that I shell out big bucks for that people think are crazy. Things that make my life easier or just that I like using or looking at. I will never criticize anyone for how they spend their own money.

With that being said, tell me how this belt justifies the price tag. Again, I am not criticizing. I sincerely want to know.

If you carry daily, a good belt is an absolute must

The Ares Gear isn’t that much more than an SOE or similar and any of them should last you until your waistline says it’s time for a new belt

Unless I am looking at this wrong, the SOE is $50 and the Ares is $129. That is a lot more money.

Edit: I have carried daily for 3 years now (G17 IWB), and realize a good belt is a must. However, if a $50 belt will get the job done, why spend $129? I know a lot of people swear by the Ares Gear, and that's why I was asking what makes it worth it.

Ares has their belt for $95 on their site...Where are you seeing it for $129?

Also, make sure you look at the price after you size it and choose colors...SOE will quickly jump in price if you want anything bigger than a 34 and any colors other than all black

Also I wear this one most often...I don’t have an Ares but I like how much quicker the BDD came over the SOE...

I was looking at the in stock Aegis belt, which shows $129. I went back and see that the custom belts start $95. The SOE I want is just all black and size 34, so the base price won't change. I will have to look at the Black Dog belts. How easy is it to use the Cobra buckle with regular belt loops? I have always wondered about that.

Easy...you remove one side from the belt, thread it through the loops and put the buckle back on, clip, tighten
