Maybe it's because it isn't as useful as most sticky threads. IDK, it is fine if it isn't a sticky but I think it serves an important purpose keeping the daily thread less bloated.

No one commands @tcBob, he does as he pleases. It all works out for the best in the end :)

Gee I never realized how many tools I had laying around until I had it all laid out. Most of them are Chinesium tools, but there’s some Southwire, Irwin, and Vice Grips thrown in the bunch.

What the hell am I supposed to put up here? LOL

That’s all the battery operated tools I own, the dual power strips are a nice touch. I really want to invest in that DeWalt DCF899HB impact gun. 700 ft/lbs in a battery powered tool is insane.

    Wait is that it...

also what you do have doesn't seem like it is bad stuff, your screwdrivers depressed me a wee bit but the rest of that looks fairly typical.

I have this screwdriver set (amongst tons of individual ones from other sets) and they're great because they're full tang and the grip dont slip.

    https://smile.amazon.com/Channelloc...D=419MP8369%2BL&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

Also have some with wrench flats on them for when you need some extra torque

All the other drawers have tools in them, but that one is the most full.

My screwdriver collection is pretty bad, that stuff has just been kicking around the house for years so I finally gave it a home. An actual Snap-On screwdriver is only like $20 with my student discount so I might just bite the bullet and buy a set since I use them so often. I find the downfall of cheap screwdrivers are how soft the metal is causing the screw head to strip easier.

I only have two snappy screw drivers and one of them is a bit worn, the Channellocks have held up great though. Surprisingly my goto Phillips #2 head one is a Husky, thing still fits screws like a glove without slipping and it is getting old now haha.

I do need an excuse to buy more tools. Once I get everything organized I'll see what else I want. Next thing I'm definitely buying is that DeWalt impact.

What I do need is a decent OBDII scanner. I have the cheapo Hyper-Tough scanner from Wal-Mart that really only can tell you the code the ECU gives you. I want one that reads out emissions monitors and things like that.

These Actron units are great for most things.

    https://smile.amazon.com/Actron-CP9...528012499&sr=8-11&keywords=actron+code+reader

I have a Panasonic ToughBook I use for Extended OBDII (Mode 6 and Mode 10 as well as Bidirectional Control and unit graphing), I also use it with TechStream and Hondata. Truly the best scan tool but a bit heavy, even have a USB oscilloscope for it although I find I use my Tektronix 212 more often still haha.

That's beautiful. Might just have to pick that up.

I really want to justify an Oscilloscope in my tool budget, but so far I haven't had the need for one. Those retro 70's and 80's Hewlett-Packard Oscilloscopes look great. If I had the money, I would totally spring for a modern Tektronix or Agilent one.

    wergwerg.jpg

What I need is a decent variable power supply. I like the one I have now, but it's one of those cheap-ish Chinese ones.

The Tektronix has tricks up its sleeve, the 212 is rechargeable and has dual mapping, I even have all the original Tektronix manuals.

That little beauty and a multimeter can solve lots of problems, I love that it comes with dual probes too (piercing or hook depending)

Got it from one of my Dad's friends who was a telephone lineman, used to use this when setting up those large terminal breakouts you see on street corners.

Not a bad price for a California truck.

It's about as close as the late 70s came to a pocket anything haha. The battery is still good too.

For some reason the Tektronix logo is just perfect. With the CRT, the waveform, the 50s comic book font...
