I did not, I installed as I received them. I don't remember the center bolt being loose though.

It's just loose enough for the over load spring to swivel a little. But it's not like there's any pressure on them yet.. Good to know yours haven't fallen apart due to it lol

Well, I traded my 2007 in February for a 2015, so I can't say that for sure. ;)

But I had them on there for almost two years before trading without a problem.

Did they ever sag, or more or less stay at around 1.5"

They definitely settled just a bit after I installed them, but that was a good thing. At first I was getting just a bit of vibration, I think they changed the drive line angle enough that in certain situations it was screwing up the u-joints, but within a few days or a week that problem was gone.

Mine squeaked like crazy recently. I parked with one wheel up high and sprayed them out really well with a pressure washer, then sprayed chain lube in there and they have been silent since.

I didn't notice that bolt being loose on mine, but my overload springs are a hair crooked now, so that could be why.

Mine were 2-3/4 inches up when I first installed them (compared to Toyota 3-leaf packs with 70k on them). They settled to about 1-3/4" last I measured. With 2" of lift up front (OME 884 + Bilstein 5100s), it's perfect with just a bit of rake.

I'm running a 2014 and I wish I would have replaced the springs when I got the truck. The stock pair doesn't hold up even if you never haul or tow.

Just put these on today, looks and handles very well. I'll post some pics tomorrow. Just the arch in the springs and the stiffness when putting weight in the bed really makes me glad I bought these.

Hey guys Im in the process of possibly doing the same thing. I purchased Firestone ride rite airbags to alleviate the problem with the stock springs but i was a little late. i have a 15 with just over 20k and the springs are already upside down. Going to see if they will replace them under warranty before i make any purchases on new leafs. if they do replace them ill put the airbags on and should have a problem with oem replacements. Good thread

I just received new General HD's for my 2013. I hope to install this weekend. I had installed airbags two years ago, but they got beat up on dirt roads and began to leak.
I'm not sure what the etiquette is on resurrecting threads this old, but I'm wondering if new shocks are mandatory with the General HD replacement?

update anyone? I am thinking about getting the HD 4(3/1) over the 3(2/1). Im taking off my OME dakars and 886 coils and shocks and going back to stock. I have a shell and tow a 17 ft G3 boat. You guys think I should go with the HD 4(3/1) over the 3(2/1)? I have a ARE Z series shell right now but that will soon be for sale. Im thinking about getting a lighter shell like a leer. Thanks

Bilstein 5100's front and back. OME 880 front coils. General HD rear springs. Fuel 16x8 Enduro rims. Dick Cepek Extreme Country 285/75/16's Some kind of headers. K&N cold air intake.
The HD pack is what I have. The guy I bought the truck from installed them about 2 years ago and they are still strong. If you don't want any lift they may not be for you as I am still up at least 2 inches from stock on my 1st gen.

i installed the 4(3/1) 90-297HD yesterday. Picked up 2.5", i expect some settling from what i've read, currently have a bit of rake which i dont mind. (pic is deceiving, driveway slopes down), plus i have a spacer up front.

ride good so far, better than stock, which on my truck would be best described as "sloppy", so it tightened up the rear. Plan to do 6112/5160's eventually

install was pretty straightforward, front leaf spring to frame nut was a bit of a PITA but eventually it gave up. Also ordered new u-bolts from GS

What did you do up front for your suspension? Pulling the trigger on these tonight but can't quite decide on coils. Leaning towards OME 884.

pic is with a 1" spacer. But i ended up buying 6112's, put them on #3 setting. Waiting for some time to install them. Already put 5160's on the rear
