Shout out to @TRD Beast 916

He did the suspension for me at his shop in sac and he did it in about 4 hours or so. It looks good. TC uca’s, king 2.5s with resi and adjusters, Dakar leaf, Carrier drop kit. His price was 50% what the big shops wanted.

Tomorrow putting my wheels and tires on finally and getting it aligned. I left the Kings at factory setting preload, but I want to go up an inch. I am kicking myself for not setting them when off the truck! It doesn’t want to turn passed the reservoir hose and the next slot is too far in to get the tool in.. Probably going to have to take them off and adjust off the truck. Anyone had this issue?

Looks great even with the stock wheels/tires. Where did you get your suspension kit? Now I want mine to look like yours...

If you are going to mess with heights, hold off on the alignment.

And you should really drive it 100 miles or so over some suspension active terrain, after the final ht, before the alignment.

I don’t know if I can wait that long the truck drives like it needs one. The place that I’m getting it aligned I was gonna have them remove the coil overs and adjust it for me. I don’t have the curved handle tool from king. Only the punch. I hear what you’re saying tho because you’re right it’s going to settle too. It was over 39 miles from the place. I guess I’m almost halfway there there right. The instructions just say get it aligned. After completion.

Sure I can do that. Hey do me a favor and measure your truck from center of rim where the Toyota emblem is and bottom of fender. I forgot to take a measurement.

Mine sits about 23-23 1/4” from center of emblem to bottom of fender. Stock adjustment from king.

2nd Gen here but same setup. I agree with driving it 100 miles until you do the alignment, especially if you plan on adjusting the height some more, compensate for taco lean. I personally did my suspension install and ran into the same issue in regards to adjusting coil height, it was a tough learning curve. Even when I took it off to adjust, I didn't have a vice to hold the shock in place, so it didn't work either. I don't remember King having the curved adjusters so I figured out a different way to work with what I had.

Someone will say this isn't the way to go, but it has worked for me everytime I've adjusted them due to new mods:

-Standard park, parking brake, lift truck, chock, set on stands and remove wheels procedure.
-Undo the ball joint bolt from the UCA and remove it completely along with the collars and washers, make sure the brake line is free from the UCA.
-Slightly loosen the long bolt that attaches the UCA to the frame. You want it loose enough so that you can move it by hand, but tight enough that if you push it upwards toward the top of the inner fender it'll stay there and be out of the way (will keep you from chipping your shiny blue PC on the coils and will free a hand to the rest of the procedure).
-Remove the top 3 bolts that attach the coil to the coil tower/bucket.
-Loosen the allen head screw that keeps the coil collar from rotating.
-Tricky part: get full droop, push the tire down and pull the coil out from the top. The bottom of the shock remains attached to the LCA.
-Spray the collar and coil threads with WD40 to get them slippery.
-Try and adjust the height wil the punch provided by King.

Since your shocks are new, this should let you rotate the collar without much effort, the LCA functions as a vice more or less and you should have enough space to reach each consecutive hole on the collar to adjust the height while half of the coil is still installed.

There is an exception here, and this only happened after about 50K miles of using my suspension. Sometimes while doing this, the collar will not budge and you end up rotating the whole coil around the shaft. If you start feeling this happen stop. What I've done here is placed a rag on top of the shock and jammed it halfway on to the coil tower. The rag acts as a cushion and prevents scratches, the pressure from jamming the shock on to the coil tower holds everything in place from the bottom and top and gets you enough leverage to rotate the collar.

Sorry for the long post, this is my ghetto procedure and has worked quite well so far. Take your time, prevent scratches and don't hurt yourself.

    -CB

Thanks for the detailed procedure. I’ll see how much they want to adjust. I’m having the shop swap out my rear break lines with the extended ones from toy tech I believe. So if it’s not that bad I’ll just have them adjust a little more for sag and then just align it. Ill just take it back again after i break it in and have them check it. I have to drive the truck to work and back and far to test off road. If I get some time though later on and have to adjust I’ll def try that method. Thanks!

The long beds look nice. I went from a long bed F250 and I wanted something easy to park and turn around in. I had to do some Austin powers manvuvering on the trail.

Should have seen @Pella and I doing a 90 point turn on a trail this past weekend. Ended up facing a long stretch of trail with ruts about 3-4 feet deep and 1-2 feet across and had to go back up the hill in reverse and then turning around somehow.
