So I put TWO hose clamps on my tailgate. Is it over-kill? LOL.

At least it will be twice as difficult to steal my tailgate. Right?

I used a clamp that takes a little square key instead of a screwdriver just in case.

I picked it up in AutoZone, it has a little Square Key with it, will see if I can find a link.

The one with the key is probably a little more secure but can be removed easily with the right tool. One would hope the thief doesn't come to the crime scene with a complete tool box but who knows. Should also add the washer to the tailgate cable as described in the other thread. Edit: Not sure why the autozone link doesn't work but if you have a local store it's the same type of keyed clamp at half the price of Amazon.

I got ones with the little square tool one for each side. Figure it will take a little longer to steal it but will do the tailgate the same time they do the cat. converter

If you'll adjust the clamps so the heads are down, where you can't see them when the gate is open, it will be harder for you to tighten them.

And for a thief to remove them.

Put some heat shrink over the phillips heads, heat it, pinch it together, and fold it over.
    Head not exposed.
