I went the next size up on rims and tires from factory size. Had to get spacers, Old Man Emu Dakar leaf springs, Bilstein 5100 series shocks, Marlin Crawler clutch.
I finally got my new Old Man Emu Dakar leaf springs and Bilstein 5100 series shocks installed. Wow what a difference on hight. Didn't need a lift kit at all except a 1" dif drop kit. It looks sweet now and handles amazing. It is stiffer now and handles way better on rough gravel roads. On the highway it is stiff, responsive and a little squirlly , but rides nice.20180519_070057.jpg 20180610_070210.jpg 20180519_070057.jpg

I like the pre lift look of the wheel wells stuffed with tire.

Did you have rubbing issues up front?

The springs and shocks were broke in half. It was resting on the spring stoppers

Yes it was very loose. Swayed a lot and hopped alot. It was very dangerous. I hit a dip in the road and it bounced the truck sideways onto the white line and I almost hit a grey hound style school bus head on at 70mph.

Northwest Montana and North East Idaho. I write articles for the California Mining Journal (ICMJ). And I am working on my second book on gold detecting.

I noticed when I accelerate from a stop in the lower speeds the front end vibrates and doesn't have great acceleration as a result. Is this because I need to get a front end alignment after replacing the shocks and dropping the dif with the 1"dif drop kit?

I have a friend who gets the "itch" every few year to go out panning.

He says the cure for gold fever is 2 or 3 hours of shoveling. :D
