Alternatives to HID kit

Hey y'all new taco owner here. Just bought myself a 2017 Sand taco limited 4x4 v6.


I'm a huge sucker for the pure white headlight appearance but i don't want to do the HID kit, as I've had terrible experience with these kits from multiple websites.


My question is: are there any plug and play bulbs that give you the white appearance without all the tacky wires and cheap kits?


Also, this is a side question but does anyone know where I can find the black emblems?

Morimoto makes some of the best bulbs on the market, try them

 

I use LED bulbs. Got tired of HID kits. Pretty happy with them. I went with these but there are a ridiculous amount of options.

I'll check it out. But from what I've seen, you lose functionality of your high beams when you go led

 

I haven't seen much of a difference honestly. I was a little sketch about it too initially but they're fine. Morimoto ones will burn a hole in your pocket but what doesn't with this truck lol

 

And the led are plug and play? I used to drive an accord and had to remove the entire front bumper to appropriately install an hid kit. I'm trying to avoid the hassle but also achieve that 6k pure white look.

 

I guess that is a fair point in regards to high beams

I understand HIDs are probably better all around but I don't regret one bit buying LEDs. They are easy plug and play. Some people like HIDs cause they provide a better cutoff and light output. And I don't think everyone sees light output the same way. Some prefer hologen cause the white light output doesn't agree with their vision. You'll just have to try them out to see. I bought the 9600lm of the ones mentioned above and they have been great. I think either one you choose will work just fine. By the way, Welcome to TW!

 

I agree 100% - either set are killer. I upgraded LED bulbs to another set and am very happy.

 

Do you have static with your Xenon Depot HID's when listening to FM? Or do you not listen to FM. Apparently there EMI filters aren't working for me to well.

Maybe another reason to switch to LEDs.

 

I also went with these in my truck for low beams. No issues, great light output & upgrade from stock, easy to install plug & play, and reasonably priced.



And we're talking "eyes of Megatron", how cool is that!

 

So y'all have me sold on the leds. But again, would y'all worry about no high beam functionality?

 

Not exactly sure what you mean. You can get two sets if you would like and install in both the high and low beams. Or just leave the halogen on your high beams. You can definitely tell a difference when you have the high beams on. You will not lose high beam functionality.

 

Ok that makes more sense. I didn't know there are separate bulbs for your high and lows.
