On the way home. Hot. Dusty. 2 XTerras. One is probably stuck somewhere on I-69 on his way home. Got more miles on my winch than on his tires today.

So who can give me the skinny on basic comms & navigation needs? What would be a decent setup to look at? I have an iPad & Surface but I don't believe either have GPS on them. I do have an iPhone & an older Samsung S3 Android phone that do have GPS capabilities.

I want to start pricing & planning out some options.

You're iPad should have gps. A few of us run a tablet mounted to the tekdeck extreme. Use carto tracks for mapping and tracking. They work offline and run on gps

Just download the maps before you go on trips in case there's no reception, you can put markers on the maps too, for camp site, trails, etc.

Also, if you use a device that does have cellular service, open the map app of your choice before losing service. That way it will still work via GPS and not try to run cellular data

What classifies as a good CB? Is it worth investing in a nicer UHF/VHF setup now? If so, what brands or models are decent? Are there any classes or licensing I would have to worry about with that?

Does anyone have a needle bearing puller tool they’d let me borrow for a bit?

Also, Mike, @tacabode I have a question about 255/85 r16 tars. I think that's what you run, correct?

Anything need cut, removed, molded to run them on our trucks?

No cutting or molding, just need to remove the little flap in the front of the wheel well.

As long as I get it back it’s free to use
Lifted: nothing. Control arms probably make a difference...

Stock: razor blade, and 30 seconds of cutting in a place no one would ever see.

Brandon said to take off the mini front flaps on the bumper.

We plan to pull the front bumper off at RRG anyway for extra bad decisions that weekend.
