We started off with a tiny 70 Mead. Geez. My first glimpse of Saturn was small, but I was still blown away. It’s fun playing Count Dracula for the evening/early morning searching the cosmos. It’d be awesome to take out the Evos on a wheelin’ evening to a dark spot at Hungry Valley. That place is cool, open 24-7-365! But the dirt and bouncing around won’t be good for the optics. So I picked up a Meade 90 for that. Can’t wait to try it sometime soon.

I didn’t get a chance to experience the solar eclipse much. No video or Astro photography yet.

That’s me at Shaver Lake last year. Took 2nd place in the Open fuel hot saw. Stroked and bored 119cc Husky motor punched out to 136cc’s. The pipe acts like a super charger on 2 stroke motors. Add Alky or for the wild ones, 20-40% Nitromethane, they start to make some serious power. It’s a rush.

Speaking of Count, I got a chance to meet him.

That would be cool to take one out of a out in the middle of nowhere trip..

If you're in LA, It'd be a about a 4 hour drive, traffic depending of course. But I tell you what I think would be an awesome place for viewing, is Borrego Springs CA, there's a road there called Montezuma that takes you up and thru the mountains above the desert flats. Awesome road especially for riding motorcycles, used to ride out there all the time.
Last time I was there I took a girl up for a desert night picnic date, if you wanna call it that. Didn't get a lot of star gazing in but they were definitely out.

It would be a good option I think, you could literally pull off Montezuma and set up not far off the road. Something to consider at least.. There's also some wheeling/camp spots there too.. Some TW members go.

That's awesome. I always thought it'd be funny to have a tree service with some hot saws like that.. Pull up to a "regular" job site and whip out one of those bad boys, fire it up and go to town, pruning a tree or something:laugh:, and somehow video the expression/s of property owner/s.
Yeah nitro puts an extra lick or seven in an engine. Like Top Fuel or Funny Car dragsters, literally like watching an eruption of power, that rattles your body and teeth. TV doesn't do it justice.

Those are some nice eye pieces ya got there. I don't own a lot of eyepieces as most of the time my rig is set up for Astro Photography. I do have a few televue pieces and some filters for when I do visual observations but its usually for lunar observations.

Kinda Leather face pose @42 Haha, the only thing he needs is a apron and stitched together face mask, and "The Saw Is Family" engraved on the bar.

Catchy theme for a tree service.
