whats a good catty that will pass CA emission

Just bought a 2005 tacoma about 3 weeks ago. it was my first car ever and i kinda got fucked buying it. it had 130k miles and in pretty good condition. i knew right of the back it was gonna need a new alignment which wasnt a big deal. a few days after i had the truck the check engine came on ( and also the traction control which i have no idea how to fix ) and so when i took it to get a alignment i told them to so a diagnostic on it . i had a bad catalytic converter/ o2 sensors. and i think the suspension on the front left side is kinda done. i just wanted to know if yall had any info on a catalytic converter that will pass CA emission bc after i ETS out of jber i will be going back home withing the year. any info will be helpful!

 

The only c.a.r.b legal cats come from the dealer . Do you know what code came up?

 

Go to Auto zone etc.. and scan the codes. I had a code for catalytic converter efficiency and it just turned out to be a bad gasket just behind the second sensor.

 

the dealer is so expensive haha & yes its po420 po430 & i’ve been to auto zone but they didnt have any CA legal ones

 

Mine was the 420...i got 280,000+ miles on my original cats. I found some soot at the joint between the cats.

 

I got the p0430 code, replaced all 4 o2 sensors and pcv valve. Light went off and hasn't returned in 1000 miles

 

In Toyota’s the TRaction control light comes on anytime the check engine light comes on. Also P0420 and P0430 catalyst system efficiency is below the threshold in bank 1 and 2 both cats would have to be replaced.

 

Traction control light only comes on if equipt with TC

 

Thanks for this info. Will keep this in mind if I ever throw the code. Much cheaper than a new CC.

Vote in the upcoming election to separate Commiefornia into 3 different states. Then move out all together just to be safe. It sucks because California looks like a beautiful state. It's ruined by people that never leave their large cities.

 

Too bad there’s no election to remove it from the US. I’m sure the other 49 states would vote yes.

 

I had P0420 code. It Turned it to be a bad gasket between the cats on the passenger side.

 

It is a beautiful state with lots of trails to explore. But it's being run buy fucktards who think that killing a frog will destroy the world. Im on my way out of here in a few months I hope.
