    Great Price for a dealer!
A super quick search, that should be verified before he orders (should be easy for a dealer), shows that the 4Runner should use part number 89994-48142, not the same key part number as the Tacoma.

I got mine from CBoy after seeing these. Happy to find out it is an actual domed sticker that replaced the original domed emblem, not some thin vinyl that you put over the original domed emblem.

For anyone interested he @CBoy808 sells these for $6 shipped. He said he only has red but has the factory T logo and TRD logo.

Basically the short answer is that tokens are needed to use a used key on your vehicle (an ebay key that has already been programmed to a vehicle) in addition to a working copy of techstream and a dongle.

If you are using a new key (that has never been programmed to a vehicle before), then only techstream and a dongle are required, no tokens.

I have installed 2 smart card keys now. First one I got new, because it was easier to program it. Second one I got used and had to do the key resetting method to save some money, and I felt more confident...

Thanks everyone for the great write ups. I got my key card today and got it working after a bit.

I bought my new key card for $184 from a dealership online and I bought the cable from Amazon which came with Techstream on a CD. I bought the $28 one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B078VKM1G3?psc=1&ref=yo_pop_mb_pd_title
I also bought a 5 pack of Panasonic batteries on amazon for $18 and replaced the one that came with the card right away to avoid any weak signal from old batteries.

I used Youtube videos to walk me through what choices to make, but it was pretty easy. If anyone lives in Virginia Beach/Hampton Roads area, hit me up and you can use my techstream laptop set up so you don't have to buy anything. Just make sure you have a new Lexus card, as I don't have the tokens to reprogram, and I don't want to erase someones set of keys that currently work.

Also feel free to hit me up if anyone needs me to walk through setting up a laptop or the program. I set up an old laptop with Windows 7 32 bit and did all the windows updates. I then installed Java (unsure if needed) due to some error I was getting, and then loaded the program. I originally loaded 12.10.0.19 from these directions: https://topscantool.com/toyota-techstream.html ....but the "Utility" button never loaded to be able to select the smart keys to program, so I uninstalled it all and then installed everything that came on the Amazon set.

How is everyone removing the Lexus sticker? Are you just heating it up and peeling it out or what's the best method? I really don't want to scratch the key card.

I used a tiny eye glasses screw driver and topped it right out without damaging the plastic.

I was quoted over $600 at a BC Lexus dealership...
$500 CAD is probably pretty close with ones on eBay going for $300 USD after the exchange and shipping/brokerage/duty and taxes.

I have a P.O. box in the states so going down and picking it up is not an issue. You are not wrong with the 500 being close but I have seen a few for 200 USD

I would hop on a $200 USD one if I could find. So far cheapest I’ve seen is $250 USD. have been watching eBay sporadically over the last 2 months.

So I made my order today because my local had the best price for the card (202.86), and ordered the key blank with it (37.58). Ordered through the local's website. Parts department emailed me asking for the VIN number, so I gave it. Got this email back:

    Hello
By the VIN provided by you, the parts you have ordered is not the correct part for your vehicle.
There is a price difference of $96.99 in your favor. we will credit the difference. The parts should be available tomorrow.
    Thanks

I emailed them back asking them to please call me. Had a nice conversation with the parts guy. Said the part he changed it to was not a wallet card. I asked politely to please change the order back to what I asked for, and he responded with "are you absolutely sure that part will work with the truck vin you gave me?" To which I replied "I just read 16 pages worth of testimonials for exactly that part with exactly the same truck as the vin I gave you, so yeah, I'm pretty sure".

Parts will be available for pick up tomorrow. I tried to get the extra 96.99 off anyway, but he wasn't having it.....
