2018 Factory Tint

Hello guys/gals,

New 2018 Taco TRD Sport owner and would like to tint windows. I have a couple questions.

1. I have seen numbers all over the board. Does anyone have the actual Toyota Spec?

2. Does the rear factory tint provide UV protection?

Welcome to TW. There is not factory "tint" on the rear windows, but if you were to meter it; it would come out to around 25, give or take a few percentage points. It is considered colored glass, or dyed glass. There is some UV protection and heat reduction with the factory "tint".

Edit: @dYL0n had a write up about window tint in his build thread as well. I used that as a guide when I tinted my windows. I knew that I had seen this someplace before. Hope this helps you out some.
