I wholeheartedly agree... The sad part though is that bumper isn't worth crap for pushing anything and nobody seems to make anything less than a full fledged bumper replacement for OR.
I'm thinking of having a fab maker combine the designs of the below the bumper hitch and the lightbar area hitch (that uses both anchor sets for support) to make a no mod, bolt on pushbar (much like a bullbar, but useful).

I totally get it. Mine is a TRD Sport access cab that is not used for anything hard core. Front and rear bumpers are fragile at best.

How did you get the red letters on the hitch cover? Paint?

There might be a valid reason for hiding plates:

The medical and life insurance companies use MIB, It's a clearing house like your credit file. That's how they size you up for the rates and if you're insurable or not. You're not that far off on your remarks. Ancestry.com or 21andme.com are not your friends! You may think so, but they are collecting data and it's being sold. Data is big business.

Now back to the issue at hand. This only slows down the bad guy. As said in several posts. The crook runs your plate and or give the info to another friend and sees where you live and then goes shopping for Taco parts or it may be the entire deal. You have something they want and they will go through hoops to get it!

There are bad apples everywhere and easily bought. Happens everyday all over. You can vet the user as much as possible but if the price is right they will sell the info in a heartbeat!
